    We are looking for a full-time Assistant Health Editor to write and edit research-driven health and well-being content across editorial, newsletter, podcast, and social platforms. This person should have an insatiable curiosity about health and always be on the lookout for the next big thing in longevity for women. This involves diving deep into emerging research, interviewing leading experts, and translating complex scientific concepts into accessible, engaging, and actionable content for our audience. The Assistant Health Editor is expected to find and work with thought leaders in this space and help mindbodygreen lead the conversation for our health-conscious female readership dedicated to living a longer, healthier, more vibrant life. 

    Leads daily coverage of emerging research, longevity trends, and expert insights while managing editorial workflows and cross-departmental coordination with podcast, social, and guest contributors.

    Role & responsibilities:

    • Write and publish research-forward articles per week covering new health studies, longevity science, wellness trends, and podcast-based articles, translating complex science into accessible, engaging consumer health journalism.
    • Stay up to date on emerging research, technologies, and trends in nutrition, exercise science, women’s health, longevity, and mental health to inform timely editorial coverage.
    • Own and write specific editions of our editorialized newsletters, including research highlights, expert insights, and actionable takeaways for a health-savvy audience.
    • Manage the daily newsletter content and ensure timely publication.
    • Lead internal podcast editorial operations, including:
      • Writing detailed show notes
      • Coordinating with guests for bios, headshots, and final assets
      • Writing intro scripts for the host
      • Writing podcast articles
      • Brainstorming title ideas, pull quotes, and social clip concepts for each episode
    • Pitch and deliver 5–7 original social media content ideas weekly, grounded in research, cultural relevance, and audience engagement.
    • Coordinate and conduct interviews with high-profile experts in health, longevity, and performance; write feature articles and help spearhead associated social collaborations.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, podcast, and social team members to ensure cohesive storytelling and brand voice across channels.

    Requirements

    • 1 to 3 years of experience writing at an online publication.
    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, health sciences, or a related field.
    • Strong science literacy with the ability to synthesize academic research into compelling editorial narratives.
    • Excellent editorial judgment, time management, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced publishing environment.
    • Constantly stays up-to-date with the latest product launches, health trends, and research. Adept at understanding studies and translating them into accessible content. 
    • Experience writing in multiple voices (reported articles, newsletters, social, etc).
    • Highly organized with strong project management and communication skills.
    • Confident interviewing and relationship-building with experts and thought leaders.
