OVERVIEW

The Senior Content Manager works collaboratively with departments to create engaging content that aligns with brand voice and accomplishes client marketing goals across earned, owned and paid channels. This includes producing and managing content for websites, social media, paid search, digital ads, emails and video. It requires an understanding of SEO best practices, knowledge of design and online publishing tools as well as the drive to research trends independently and bring fresh content ideas to clients. This position works with clients demanding high levels of strategy and ingenuity.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

Leads content strategy for significant clients in the agriculture sector.

• Leads messaging concepting and content campaign execution.
• Works with an integrated, cross-functional team on annual client planning.
• Facilitates workshops and builds thought leadership platforms for clients.
• Researches trends to deliver fresh ideas to clients.
• Collaborates with PR teams to amplify messaging and connect story opportunities.
• Produces written content that aligns with marketing programs, including social media, web copy, blogs, emails, and more—ensuring cohesive communications across channels.
• Supports new business presentations and participate in pitches.
• Understands content workflow best practices.
• Acts as a sounding board for junior content associates.

Becomes an essential part of the larger creative team

• Works with designers, developers, and online teams to creating engaging content of all kinds (e.g., written, video, social, web, etc.)
• Develops multimedia content ideas—like infographics, podcasts, videos, etc.—and spearhead production of finished executions in collaboration with design and production teams.
• Familiar with creating/using information architecture and content prioritization tools (e.g., wireframes, sitemaps, page tables, page inventories, priority guides).
• Uses various online tools to organize and publish content.
• Reviews data and analytics to optimize content performance.
• Skilled at communication, organization, and conflict management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field.
• Expertise in agriculture a major plus.
• 5+ years of experience working in content marketing, journalism or communications.
• Familiarity with content management tools, including WordPress, Kentico, Drupal and Semrush.
• Very strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to capture various brand voices.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Experience creating and editing videos appreciated.
• Comfortable writing in AP style.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

The pay range is $85,000 - $125,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
