SEO Strategist

Job Title: SEO Strategist

Reports To: SEO Team Lead, Symphonic Digital

Position Overview

Symphonic Digital is looking for an experienced SEO Strategist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years of SEO experience who is strategic, collaborative, and ready to take ownership of a client portfolio while working closely within a team.

You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for your accounts, building client relationships grounded in trust, clear communication, and consistent follow-through. You’ll also support the SEO Team Lead on enterprise accounts, contributing to strategy and execution on the agency’s most complex programs. Day to day, you’ll work closely with the rest of the SEO team, sharing what’s working, asking for input, and helping each other do great work.

Beyond execution, we’re looking for someone who thinks creatively and brings fresh perspectives to complex SEO challenges. If you’re excited by the evolving landscape of AI-driven search and what GEO/AEO means for organic strategy, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Communication

  • Serve as the primary SEO point of contact for your assigned accounts, owning the client relationship, driving strategy, and communicating performance and recommendations with confidence and clarity.
  • Translate complex SEO data, trends, and strategy into compelling narratives that resonate with clients at every level.
  • Lead recurring client calls and reporting reviews, setting the agenda, controlling the story, and positioning the team's work in the context of the client's broader business goals.
  • Collaborate with Client Managers and Sales teams to identify expansion opportunities, surface risks early, and support retention and upsell conversations.

Strategy & SEO Leadership

  • Collaborate with the SEO Team Lead and fellow strategists to develop and execute SEO strategy for a portfolio of accounts, contributing to roadmaps, priorities, and recommendations that move the needle.
  • Develop and maintain strategic documentation including content strategies, technical roadmaps, and keyword frameworks that guide execution and align with client objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and issues before they surface, whether that's an algorithm shift, a competitive threat, or an underperforming content cluster, and bring a clear point of view on what to do next.
  • Work alongside Analysts on your accounts, offering direction and feedback while staying open to their ideas and perspectives.
  • Support the SEO Team Lead on enterprise accounts, contributing to strategy, executing against defined roadmaps, and ensuring strong output on the agency’s most complex programs.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Manage your client portfolio like a business, maintaining clear timelines, sequencing workstreams, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks across multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Keep internal project tracking tools up to date and communicate progress, blockers, and priorities proactively.

Technical SEO & Execution

  • Lead technical SEO audits, crawl analysis, site architecture reviews, and implementation guidance for your accounts and hold clients accountable to acting on recommendations.
  • Complete on-page optimization, content strategy execution, and more, with a focus on what drives measurable outcomes.

Automation & Innovation

  • Champion AI and automation tools across your workflow.
  • Stay ahead of emerging SEO tools, AI-driven workflows, and industry shifts and bring those insights back to the team in a way that's actionable.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Own the reporting process for your accounts; building and maintaining client-facing dashboards and decks that tell a clear, accurate story of performance and progress.
  • Go beyond tracking metrics to providing interpretation: what the data means, why it changed, and what we should do because of it.
  • Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic trends, share of voice, and AI/LLM visibility, and synthesize those signals into strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of SEO experience, ideally in an agency environment
  • Proven track record managing SEO accounts
  • Strong command of technical SEO fundamentals (site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawlability)
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard SEO tools across crawling, rank tracking, and analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable managing multiple accounts simultaneously in a fully remote environment

Bonus Points For

  • Hands-on experience with GEO/AEO strategies and LLM visibility tracking
  • Familiarity with Peec.ai or similar AI search monitoring platforms
  • Experience with B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise tech clients
  • Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools (Looker Studio, Google Sheets automation)
