SEO and GEO Strategist
ExceedExceed is growing, and we're looking for our next SEO and GEO Strategist. If you want to own the strategy for B2B SaaS clients on Google and in AI search, this one's for you. 100% remote and flexible, outcomes over hours. 3-5 years of agency SEO experience required. EMEA timezone preferred.

SEO and GEO Strategist @ Exceed
Imagine owning the SEO and GEO strategy for 3-5 B2B SaaS companies, working alongside writers, technical specialists and link builders who carry out the plan, with the freedom to test what works as SEO and AI search keep changing.
That's this role.
You decide what gets built and why. Our specialists make it happen. And the results show up where it counts: demos and pipeline.
Full-time preferred, about 40 hours a week (part-time from 20 hours is open to discussion). Fully remote. You report to Josef.
About Exceed
Exceed exists because we got tired of SEO reports that celebrate traffic while the sales team asks, "ok, but where are the demos?"
We (Josef and Eddie) spent years in B2B software sales at Oracle, where a number is either in the forecast or it isn't.
Exceed was built the same way. Every roadmap, report and experiment has to answer one question: did it create pipeline for our client?
It's the bar for who we hire, too. We like people who get itchy about a pretty report that changes nothing, who test new tactics instead of recycling last year's advice, and who'd rather tell a client the bad news themselves than let them find it.
There are no layers here. You get hard problems in how buyers find software, on Google and now in AI answers, and the room to solve them.
We're an SEO and GEO agency that helps B2B SaaS companies turn organic search and AI visibility into a reliable revenue channel. Founded in 2023, we're a fully remote team working with ambitious B2B SaaS clients globally.
No set hours, no micromanagement, just the freedom to work when you're most effective. In return, you own strategic outcomes.
What this role is about
You'll be the person who decides the strategy for 3-5 client accounts. You choose what the work should be: which pages to build, which gaps to close, which sources to go after, what to fix first. Then you brief the specialists who carry it out, and you own the strategy and the results.
It's strategy, with specialists to carry it out. You spend your days on the decisions that move pipeline, not on production. You check the work against your brief, give clear feedback, and watch it work.
And because search is changing faster than ever, you get to experiment. Form a hypothesis, test it, see what happens, keep what works. You'll often be the first on the team to spot what has changed in search, and what it means for our clients.
You get full strategic ownership, a direct line to both founders, and Josef as your manager.
Who you work with
- Content writers, who write from your briefs
- Technical and on-page SEO specialists, who run audits and implement the fixes you prioritize
- Link and brand mention builders, who work from your briefs for each account
- Josef and Eddie, for guidance, escalations and client conversations
Why you'll love it
- Real ownership. 3-5 accounts, your calls, your roadmap.
- Specialists to carry out the plan. Writers, technical specialists and link builders handle the execution, so you spend your time on strategy and clients.
- Room to test new ideas. Try GEO tactics on real B2B SaaS accounts, with the client's agreement, a clear hypothesis and limited risk, and turn what works into our playbook.
- Clients who care about results. B2B SaaS brands that want pipeline and deals, not vanity traffic.
- Direct access to the founders. You report to Josef, with no layers.
- Room to grow. Take on more accounts as we scale, and grow into Lead Strategist or Head of SEO.
Perks
- Fully remote & flexible hours. Work from anywhere, with no set hours.
- Flexible time off.
- Tools covered. Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, Scrunch and the rest of the stack you need.
- A learning budget for courses, conferences and books.
- Time to experiment. GEO tests are part of the job, not an evening project.
- Direct access to the founders for feedback, guidance and decisions.
- A path to grow into senior strategic roles (Lead Strategist, Head of SEO).
- A referral reward when you bring in someone we hire.
- Team meetups. In-person get-togethers with the founders and the team.
What you'll get to do
Set the strategy
- Look at a domain and decide what will move pipeline fastest
- Build quarterly roadmaps from the pages buyers search for first: categories, competitor comparisons and alternatives
- Decide where the effort goes: content, links, technical fixes, on-page or AI visibility
Brief the work
- Turn your strategy into clear briefs for writers, technical specialists and link builders
- Check what comes back against your brief, and give clear, specific feedback
- Keep an eye on what's due on your accounts, and flag early if something slips
Win in AI search
- Define a priority set of prompts per client, test it regularly, and see what the engines search behind each prompt
- Track mentions and citations in Scrunch against named competitors
- Find the wrong things AI engines say about a client, trace them back to their sources, and get them fixed
Make links and mentions count
- Brief our link builders on what to go after: backlink gaps against competitors, the sources AI engines cite, and brand mention opportunities
- Review results with them each month and adjust the plan
Get the technical side right
- Spot what matters in Search Console and audits, prioritize the fixes, and brief our technical and on-page specialists
- Brief clients and their developers, and follow fixes through to done
Brief great content
- Write 8-10 content briefs a month for our writers, built around bottom-funnel search intent
- Review drafts and give strategic feedback
Keep testing
- Run GEO experiments on client accounts and on our own site: hypothesis, test, result, keep or drop
- Write the winners into our playbook, and share them with the team
- Follow how Google and AI search are changing, and tell the team what matters and what is noise
- Challenge our own methodology whenever the evidence says it's out of date
Lead the client conversation
- Explain what moved in pipeline terms, from first touch to demo
- Run monthly and quarterly reviews with marketing leaders
- Bring bad news early, with a plan attached
What winning looks like
- Each account's organic demos and pipeline move toward target.
- Every account has a quarterly roadmap your client has signed off.
- Work on your accounts ships on-brief and on time, because your briefs are clear.
- Clients hear about problems from you first.
- AI visibility on priority prompts climbs, and wrong AI answers get fixed.
- Earned mentions on priority prompts grow.
- Every account has documented GEO tests, and the winners reach our playbook.
- Monthly reports lead with pipeline and go out on time.
You'll thrive here if
- You have 3-5 years of agency SEO across technical, content and on-page work
- You write briefs that others can act on, and give specific feedback when the work misses the mark
- You're curious by default: you test things, and you have a recent experiment to tell us about
- You keep up with how SEO and AI search are changing, and you form your own view
- You understand how AI search picks and cites sources
- You can read a backlink gap analysis and tell a link builder exactly what to go after and why
- You're comfortable in Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console and GA4
- You can show strategies you built that moved pipeline, and GEO work that raised visibility
- You're confident with clients, including on hard days
- You connect SEO to revenue, not just traffic
Bonus points: B2B SaaS and bottom-funnel experience, experience working closely with writers or specialists, comfort with AI-powered workflows, published write-ups on GEO or AI search, and being based in EMEA.
