Freelance Technology Reporter
The StackJobs Jobs Jobs!
We're looking for two more experienced news hounds at The Stack.
Freelance basis, full-time-equivalent. Flexible shifts. Join an energetic, growing team!
Enterprise technology or business reporting strongly preferred; willingness to geek out about virtual machines/containers/IaaS/infosec/"digital transformation" more broadly, without getting sucked into the vendor-hype slipstream greatly favoured.
Ability to work independently and with initiative warmly welcomed; openness to feedback likewise. I'd particularly welcome one person willing to work a 4pm - 11pm shift UK time, regularly, reporting in to Tom Krazit, who's on a PT clock.
Great features writers with deep technical chops always welcomed, but I'd love to grab someone with a nous and a nose for news, who likes breaking stories, moving stories on, building a solid contacts book and hates being scooped.
Don't care where you work, but availability for events at short notice preferred and a willingness and desire to get to them from your own initiative are important.
Competitive rates/salary.
The Stack is a bootstrapped, journalist-owned media startup: It's scrappy, but that means there is always scope to carve out an important role for yourself and frankly, when you've proved yourself, earn more money, so throw your hat into the ring!
