Fancy joining our growing editorial collective at Urban Studies Journal? We have two (paid) editorial roles key to shaping the future of the journal:

📱🎙️ SOCIALS AND MEDIA EDITOR

We’re appointing a Socials and Media Editor to lead and expand our social media presence (including LinkedIn and the journal website) and take forward stewardship of the Urban Studies podcast, "Walking the City With…". The Socials and Media Editor will work with the Managing Editors to develop an updated strategy for engagement across platforms, help advance the journal’s reputation, and contribute to editorial and review activity.

📚 BOOK REVIEWS EDITOR

We’re looking for a Book Reviews Editor to shape the next phase of our Book Reviews programme, connecting it more strategically with other journal activities (e.g. Calls for Papers, podcast, social media engagement). The Book Reviews Editor will work with the Managing Editors to sustain and grow a pipeline of lively, informative book review content and help ensure its alignment with Urban Studies’ broader editorial goals.

🕒 Both roles are part-time (approx. half a day per week) on a three-year initial appointment, with a consultancy fee payable annually. Expressions of interest are welcomed by 27 February 2026.

🌍 We especially encourage applications from early-career scholars and those based in, or working closely with, Southern urban contexts.
