I'm hiring a Digital Marketing Lead for my team at Interledger Foundation, a nonprofit advancing open, interoperable digital payments infrastructure.

What you'd own:
→ Editorial strategy and content production across all digital channels
→ Email marketing, social media, and website channel implementation
→ Managing freelance writers and agency partners
→ Multi-channel campaign execution
→ HubSpot automation and performance analytics

What I'm looking for:
✅ 5+ years in digital marketing with strong writing/editing skills

Overview

We seek a Digital Marketing Lead to own and execute our digital communications across all channels.

This is a strategic-operational hybrid: you'll have accountability for digital performance while managing digital content production, optimization, and team coordination.

You will translate our brand strategy into compelling digital content, manage our content ecosystem (writers, social agency), and continuously optimize based on data.

You will be successful in this role if you thrive in ambiguity and are comfortable building structure, not just operating within it. You are a translator between strategy and execution, taking high-level direction and running with it. You have high standards but ship consistently, you know when "good enough" is appropriate. You are data-informed but not paralyzed — you make decisions quickly and adjust. You are genuinely curious about open finance and financial inclusion.


What You Will Be Doing

Digital Channels

  • Social media strategy and manage agency/intern for daily execution
  • Newsletter production — strategy, content, segmentation in HubSpot
  • Website content management — updates, coordination with developers
  • Email marketing — campaigns, automation workflows, A/B testing
  • Paid ads — campaigns, optimization

Content Production & Quality

  • Manage editorial calendar across all digital channels
  • Manage 2–3 freelance content writers — brief, review, edit
  • Copy edit and QC all digital content for quality and brand consistency
  • Optimize for SEO and AI Search Optimization across website and blog content

Campaign & Event Execution

  • Execute digital campaign content across email, social, website
  • Multi-channel coordination for integrated campaigns
  • Event promotion — support with landing pages, emails, social amplification

Performance & Analytics

  • Build campaigns in HubSpot — emails, workflows, landing pages
  • Track and optimize channel performance using dashboards
  • Monthly reporting with insights and recommendations

About You

  • 5–7+ years in digital marketing or content marketing
  • Proven track record managing freelancers work for quality and consistency
  • Email marketing expertise with automation (HubSpot strongly preferred)
  • Social media strategy and management (LinkedIn and X essential)
  • Editorial calendar management
  • Strong writing/editing — can translate complex topics clearly
  • Data-driven — comfortable using analytics to optimize

Technical Skills

  • Marketing automation (HubSpot preferred; others acceptable)
  • Content management systems
  • Social media management tools
  • SEO basics and optimization
  • Google Analytics or similar
  • Project management tools

Nice to Have

  • Fintech, nonprofit, or open source experience
  • B2B marketing background
  • Remote team experience across timezones
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Passion for financial access and digital rights

Reporting

Communications Department, reporting to Marketing & Communications Director


Location

Interledger Foundation is based in the US and has a fully remote workforce. This position can be based almost anywhere in the world.


Contract

6-month initial with high potential for extension

$6,000 – $8,000 USD per month (monthly retainer)
