Video Game Narrative Designer (Story Writer) – Freelance / Multi-Language
We're building a talent pool of Narrative Designers for story-rich games. Current projects cover German, French, Spanish (Latin America), and Russian, with an expected monthly volume of 20,000 words per language after testing.
This role focuses on creative writing and cultural adaptation of in-game stories and dialogue. Candidates will use reference drafts to craft immersive, natural, and culturally authentic narratives.
Open to students and early-career candidates. No experience required, but native-level language and deep cultural knowledge are essential.
Freelance, with potential for long-term remote work.
Key Responsibilities
*Turn reference drafts into high-quality, emotionally engaging narrative content
*Write dialogue consistent with characters and narrative intent
*Ensure cultural appropriateness and avoid sensitive content
*Add culturally resonant elements to deepen player connection
*Maintain narrative quality, clarity, and authenticity
Qualifications
*Native speakers of: Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, German (Germany), French (France), Russian (Russia), Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, or Italian (Italy)
*Preferred studies: Literature, Linguistics, History, Game Design, Narrative Design, Screenwriting, Theater, or related fields
*Strong writing and literary skills

*Functional English for communication and reference tools
Nice to Have
*Experience in screenwriting, novel writing, or anime/manga creation
*Background in localization or cultural adaptation
