Sports Writer
On SIHi folks!
I’m very excited to announce that I am adding to my On SI writing team! As of now, I am looking for writers interested in the Chicago Bulls, White Sox, and Cubs. If you’ve been searching for an opportunity to hone your sportswriting skills or have longed for a larger outlet to have your voice heard, this is the place for you!
All current roles will be freelance, part-time positions. In other words, you will be a contributing writer paid via a system that reflects your experience. As much as I'd love to offer a more established role, I'm still very much in the early stages of growing our Chicago brand.
What will the gig entail? Not only will you help keep fans updated on the day-to-day news cycle, but you will also have the opportunity to write engaging and creative pieces for a growing audience. Each article will be at least 400 words of original content.
Those interested in applying must have one year of writing experience under their belt. Along with a resume, please send over the team you are interested in covering and at least two samples of previous written work. Applicants who do not provide samples will not be considered in any capacity.
Additionally, while not a priority, local writers are preferred.
