Social Media Intern / Content Assistant
NukavaI'm hiring! Just opened up part-time roles in social and paid media (links below). I might need to DELETE this post later for legal reasons 😅 but I want to be super honest with applicants about how Nukava pulled me from SaaS into supplements:
This month marks three years since I left the workforce to become my wife Becca's fulltime caregiver. She has an extremely severe case of a complex, chronic neuroimmune disease called ME/CFS.
The disease has left her 100% bed bound, on a feeding tube, mostly nonverbal and in need of near complete sensory deprivation (ear plugs, eye mask, no clothes). There is no known cure.
The only way for Becca to call for help is to make a clicking sound -- which means that I have lived for the past three years always listening to the audio from her room. And I never leave a 30-second radius from her, so I can quickly respond to her daily moments of intense pain and distress.
In all this time we have tried dozens of substances. There are only three that Becca asks for regularly to cope. Two are prescription medications with high risk profiles. The third is kava, a calming root extract with origins and a long history of use in the South Pacific. Something we'd never even heard about until two months ago!
There are lots of snake oils and snake oil salesmen out there. I distrust the supplement industry about as much or more than anyone. Nukava is different. I'm here to be involved in genuine quality of life improvement.

About the role
Nukava is looking for a part-time Social Media Intern / Content Assistant to help us create and manage short-form content, especially for TikTok. Start date ASAP.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Compensation is $18/hour for about 20 hours per week.
What you'll help with:
- Come up with TikTok and short-form video ideas.
- Lightly edit clips for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
- Use tools like Descript, Buffer, Opus Clips, CapCut, or similar.
- Track trends, sounds, hooks, and creator formats.
- Write simple captions and post copy.
- Help schedule content and keep a basic content calendar.
- Engage with comments, creators, and community conversations.
- Share quick notes on what content is working.
Good fit:
- Comfortable with TikTok and short-form content.
- Basic video editing skills.
- Strong taste for what feels native to social platforms.
- Interested in wellness, beverages, supplements, kava, or creator marketing.
- Organized enough to manage posts, clips, and deadlines.
