Hiring for: Project Manager (SEO & Editorial)
The Basics
- Growth Plays is hiring a Project Manager with 3–5 years of experience working in an agency, based in the US or Canada.
- We hold a high bar, we move with purpose, and we're building AI systems into the core of how we operate. As we grow, we need a Project Manager who can keep everything running smoothly.
- This role is ideal for an organized, execution-first operator who thrives on keeping complex, multi-team workflows running without a hitch. We need an AI-native doer who thrives on building systems that produce results.
- You are extremely detail-oriented and can QA your own work, so nothing falls through the cracks and every deliverable lands on time.
- You will work closely with our delivery, operations, and account management teams to ensure all client deliverables ship on schedule and no project or task goes untracked.
- Location: Remote (US or Canada preferred)
- Role type: Full-time, exempt
- Compensation: $90,000–$105,000 DOE, plus we cover home internet, a coworking space, and all necessary office equipment.
- Benefits:
- Health, vision, dental (90% covered; 40% for dependents), FSA options
- Matching 401(k) (after 6 months, up to 4%)
- 3 weeks PTO
- That's 15 days of vacation of your choosing, and then we shut down fully the last week of the year.
- $40/month coffee & snack stipend
- Internet, coworking, and equipment covered
The Role
- You will serve as the connective tissue among our delivery, operations, and account management teams, ensuring the right work reaches the right people at the right time.
- You will own the central view of all active client projects and tasks across the agency, proactively flagging anything at risk of slipping behind deadline and driving it to resolution before it becomes a problem.
- You'll work directly with account managers to understand what's due, when, and for whom, and then hold the delivery side accountable to those timelines.
- You proactively learn what each client values, including their preferred formats, feedback styles, and non-negotiables, and you make sure the team is never guessing.
- You'll be a builder and maintainer of the systems that keep our project infrastructure clean, current, and trustworthy, so the whole team can focus on doing great work instead of hunting for status updates.
- At times, you will be the first to spot a bottleneck or gap, and you'll be expected to raise it, propose a fix, and see it through.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep every deliverable on track: Own the full project pipeline and ensure nothing ships late or gets lost in the shuffle.
- Maintain a full content pipeline: Track content calendars across all clients and let account managers know when a client’s content plan needs additional strategy and planning, before it creates a gap in work for the delivery team and freelancers.
- Bridge delivery, ops, and account teams: Serve as the central point of coordination so handoffs are clean and expectations are aligned.
- Maintain accurate project and task visibility: Ensure our systems (ClickUp, Notion) reflect real-time status across all accounts and workflows.
- Identify and resolve blockers early: Proactively surface risks before they become misses and work cross-functionally to unblock the team.
- Build and maintain client context: Develop a working knowledge of each client's preferences and standards so the team can anticipate needs and deliver work that consistently hits the mark.
- Be the person the team counts on: Show up consistently, follow through without being asked, and create the kind of reliability that lets everyone around you move faster and with more confidence.
- Improve how we operate: Spot inefficiencies in our workflows and propose tools and process improvements that make the team faster and more reliable.
Your Background & Skill Set
You are a seasoned project manager with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a marketing, content, or SEO agency environment.
You know what it takes to juggle multiple priorities, navigate client expectations, and keep complex workstreams moving forward without losing momentum.
You are comfortable using AI tools to move faster and stay organized, and you understand that speed never outweighs quality. You take full ownership of your output, regardless of how it was produced.
You have a solid understanding of the B2B SaaS landscape, whether from agency work with SaaS clients or time spent in-house. You don't need to be a marketer, but you need to comprehend the language our teams speak in.
You have a strong track record of execution. When you own a project, it ships on time, stays organized, and requires no follow-up reminders. We want to see evidence that you consistently deliver without needing to be chased for updates.
What Success Looks Like
- By Day 30, you will have fully immersed yourself in our clients, active projects, tools, and team workflows, and you'll have a clear picture of where the gaps are.
- By Day 60, you will be independently owning the project pipeline, running point on deliverable tracking, and proactively flagging risks before they escalate.
- By Day 90, you will be operating at full capacity, keeping delivery, ops, and account management aligned, and actively improving the processes you've inherited.
Our Values
- Focus: Prioritize deep work and getting details right.
- Autonomy & Velocity: Take initiative, move with purpose.
- Execution: Follow through. We measure ourselves by what ships, not what's discussed.
- Ownership: Do what you say you'll do.Balance: We work hard and recharge hard — both matter.
