Senior Social Media Officer
Barnardo'sBarnardo's is on the lookout for a Senior Social Media Officer, and honestly, it's a great role. We're looking for someone who loves creating standout content, spotting opportunities, jumping on trends, and working alongside an amazing group of young people who help co-create and co-produce content for our partnership with Co-op.
You'll play a key role in bringing the partnership to life across social media, creating engaging content that reaches audiences and helps make a difference for young people across the UK. This role sits within the Social Media & Video team in External Communications & Engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Develop platform-specific content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Co-create and co-produce content directly with young people.
- Plan and execute social media campaigns supporting the Barnardo's-Co-op partnership.
- Produce video content for short-form platforms.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging trends.
- Build relationships with colleagues, partners, creators, and influencers.
- Use analytics to optimize performance and demonstrate measurable impact.
What we're looking for
- Experience managing social media channels and creating video content.
- An understanding of social platform performance metrics.
- Strong collaborative and storytelling skills, and a commitment to amplifying young people's voices in content creation.
Location: UK-based, hybrid. Work from a Barnardo's hub/office or your home address within the UK.
Salary: £33,469 - £39,242 per year, plus a £312 office-at-home allowance. 36.25 hours per week. Closing date 16 October 2026.
