Senior Social Media Manager

I'm looking for a Sr. Social Media Manager to join my team at Upwork.

This is a 6-month contract with opportunity to extend. We’re looking for a senior leader who can elevate our social strategy, push our content thinking forward, and strengthen how social drives real business impact.
You’ll assess our current channel approach, refine our content strategy, and translate brand positioning and company priorities into sharper, more performance-driven execution. You’ll partner closely with the team to raise creative standards, deepen performance rigor, and evolve our platform strategies.

What you’ll drive:
• Audit and evolve channel roles, content pillars, and performance approach
• Identify opportunities to improve differentiation, discovery, and engagement quality
• Strengthen briefs and storytelling across key content buckets including third-party validation and product-in-context
• Build clearer test-and-learn frameworks across formats, messaging, and distribution
• Oversee paid amplification strategy and ensure organic insights inform scaling decisions
• Sharpen how we connect social metrics to activation, repeat engagement, and priority business signals
• Act as a strategic thought partner to the team, pushing for bold ideas grounded in data

We’re looking for 8+ years of experience in social strategy or performance-driven brand roles, deep fluency in TikTok and emerging platforms, and someone who pairs analytical sharpness with strong creative instinct.
