Senior Off-Site AEO Strategy Manager
RisepointMy team at Risepoint is hiring a Senior Off-Site AEO Strategy Manager, and it's a genuinely interesting role if you work in SEO or digital PR.
This person will own how our university partners get cited and recommended when AI tools answer higher education questions. That means building and managing a vendor network across outreach, link development, and content placement, holding those partners accountable to real citation outcomes, and mapping which publications and aggregators AI engines actually pull from for these queries. It's a role in a discovery landscape that's still being defined, with real latitude to build the playbook.
Key responsibilities
- Build and oversee vendor relationships for outreach, link development, and content placement, with accountability to measurable outcomes.
- Identify publications and aggregators cited by AI engines for higher-education queries, and create prioritized target lists.
- Conduct outreach to editors and journalists to generate earned mentions and coverage.
- Own the offsite strategy that maximizes enrollment and ROI across university partners.
- Monitor AI responses using tools and prompt testing, and translate findings into executive reports.
- Partner with SEO/AEO, Content, Brand Strategy, and Marketing teams.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in SEO or digital PR, with an understanding of how AI and LLM-based search engines surface and cite content.
- Vendor relationship management experience (SOWs, deliverables, accountability).
- A track record of consistent earned coverage and publication relationships that produce ongoing coverage, not just one-off placements.
- Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.
- Cross-functional collaboration ability with PR and content teams.
Preferred
- Traditional on-site SEO strategy experience.
- Familiarity with AI visibility tools (Profound, Ahrefs Brand Radar, DataForSEO).
- Higher education or digital agency background.
- Prompt engineering or LLM testing experience.
- Knowledge of higher education aggregators and ranking sites.
Location: Remote, US. Full-time. Application deadline 18 November 2026.
