This is a remote, long-term 1099 contractor role. Hours will fluctuate between 60-80 hours per month, and the pay is $65-$80 per hour based on experience. The role includes a 3-month trial period to ensure a strong fit before extending the contract.

We specialize in developing compelling narratives, immersive experiences, and partnership-driven campaigns for entertainment and social impact brands and agencies alike. ABCS is seeking a Senior Copywriter to join our team and help shape the studio’s voice and the clients we work with. In this role, you will craft compelling copy across multiple touchpoints, from brand messaging and campaign concepts to digital, social, and editorial content. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a sharp creative edge, a strong grasp of brand storytelling, and the ability to adapt tone and style to different industries and audiences.  You will understand the structure of a brand's identity and develop sound, strategic thinking for integrated campaign work. Your primary responsibility will be to recognize a client's needs and articulate them into a creative concept. You will present effectively to clients and agency teams, ensuring the creative integrity of the work stays intact. Additionally, you will contribute to new business activities, help outline and write pitch decks, and have a genuine interest in the creative industry. location: Fully Remote (bi-annual and annual in-person dinners); NYC or LA is preferred 

Compensation: $65-80/ hr

Responsibilities / What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Creative Storytelling: Write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for websites, campaigns, social media, email marketing, packaging, and other marketing materials.
  • Strategic Vision: Translate business goals into compelling creative solutions aligned with client objectives and ABCS’s vision. Generate original campaign concepts, messaging, and copy that capture brand essence and audience attention.
  • Project Oversight: Manage multiple projects, ensuring high-quality creative outputs are delivered on time. 
  • Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to interpret their vision and translate it into compelling narratives.
  • Studio Innovation: Use creativity to develop brand messaging, tone of voice guidelines, and copy that aligns with strategic objectives. Work with creative teams to develop innovative sales and marketing materials that are driven by narrative storytelling.
  • Team Engagement: Collaborate with designers, strategists, and creative directors to bring brand stories to life through words.
  • Brand Stewardship + Thought Leadership: Maintain and evolve ABCS’s brand identity, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all creative work. Leverage your expertise, research, and network, as well as various studio resources, to proactively recommend new strategic narrative directions that could unlock growth opportunities.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and cultural shifts to keep creative strategies cutting-edge. Provide thought leadership on the future of content marketing, AI-driven media, performance marketing, and communication planning.

Qualifications / About You:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in copywriting, content creation, or branding within an agency, brand, or start-up environment.
  • Deep understanding of digital and social media, audiences, platforms and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional creative writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital content trends. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful projects across digital, print, experiential/events, film, and/or social media.
  • Ability to thrive and stay organized in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Proven experience crafting compelling narratives and ad copy. 
  • Leadership experience, including managing junior team members or leading small creative teams.

Not a Must, But A PLUS: 

  • Experience and/or strong interest in screenwriting, film, and/or long-form narrative content and production.
  • Experience working directly with creative agencies or studio start-ups.
  • Deep understanding of industry and market trends, culture, and programming.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design and project management tools to effectively lead and support designers.
  • Experience in project management, technology, data, marketing, PR, and production.
