East Coast-based performance copywriters with fintech or consumer finance experience. This one's for you πŸ‘€

A well-known consumer fintech brand is looking for a PMM Copywriter to support their growth and acquisition teams on a contract basis.

This is a role built for a writer who knows how to make financial products feel simple, urgent, and worth acting on across every paid channel they touch. Not a brand storytelling role. Not a long-form content role. Pure performance copy, built to convert.

The team needs someone who can move fast across paid social, digital ads, banners, video scripts, and Connected TV, writing short-form hooks, headlines, CTAs, and testing variants that actually move the needle.

They're specifically looking for writers who can speak to results. Not just "I wrote ads" but "here's what we tested, here's what worked, here's why."

This is the type of role for someone who:

β€’ Thinks in messaging angles, not just sentences
β€’ Is comfortable writing 10 variants of the same CTA and knowing why each one serves a different purpose
β€’ Has written for fintech, banking, investing, crypto, or another regulated consumer category
β€’ Understands how copy lives and performs in-market, not just how it reads on a doc
β€’ Can partner closely with growth, design, and product marketing without needing a lot of hand-holding

You'll be writing across:

β€’ Paid social and digital ad copy
β€’ Display banners and short-form acquisition assets
β€’ Video scripts and Connected TV spots
β€’ A/B test variants and messaging frameworks
β€’ Campaign hooks, headlines, and CTAs across funnel stages
β€’ Consumer-facing messaging for financial products

A few things worth knowing upfront:
β€’ East Coast-based candidates strongly preferred
W2 contract engagement
β€’ Fintech or consumer finance background is a real requirement, not a nice-to-have
β€’ Strong portfolio of performance work required, be ready to speak to results

I'll be prioritizing people whose portfolios show clear performance intent, ads that were built to convert, not just to look good. Feel free to apply here

About the Role

A fast-growing consumer fintech company is looking for a PMM Copywriter / Performance Marketing Copywriter to support digital acquisition and growth marketing initiatives across key paid channels.

This role is ideal for a writer who understands how to translate financial products into clear, compelling, conversion-focused messaging. The right person will be comfortable writing short-form copy for performance channels, developing messaging that can be tested and optimized, and partnering closely with creative, growth, product marketing, and paid media teams.

The work will span digital ads, paid social, banners, video scripts, and Connected TV, with a focus on driving measurable results while maintaining a strong brand voice and clear product storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Write sharp, concise, performance-driven copy across paid social, digital ads, banners, video, and Connected TV.
  • Develop messaging for acquisition campaigns across fintech, investing, personal finance, and consumer financial products.
  • Partner with growth, product marketing, creative, design, and paid media teams to create high-performing campaign concepts.
  • Translate product features and financial benefits into simple, consumer-friendly messaging.
  • Write short-form ad copy, hooks, headlines, CTAs, video scripts, and campaign variants for testing.
  • Support A/B testing by creating multiple copy directions and messaging angles.
  • Use performance insights, audience learnings, and campaign data to refine copy over time.
  • Balance conversion-focused writing with brand voice, product accuracy, and compliance considerations.
  • Move quickly across multiple deliverables while maintaining clarity, polish, and strategic thinking.

Ideal Background

  • Experience writing for fintech, consumer finance, banking, investing, crypto, credit cards, lending, personal finance, or another regulated consumer category.
  • Strong performance marketing or growth copywriting experience.
  • Proven ability to write for paid social, digital ads, banners, video, and other acquisition channels.
  • Experience partnering with product marketing, growth marketing, creative, design, and media teams.
  • Comfortable writing short-form copy that is clear, direct, and conversion-minded.
  • Able to speak to campaign performance, testing, metrics, or optimization.
  • Strong understanding of how to simplify complex products or financial concepts for a consumer audience.
  • Ability to work quickly, take feedback well, and adapt messaging across audiences, channels, and funnel stages.

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing for investing, brokerage, crypto, banking, credit card, or personal finance products.
  • Experience writing video scripts, CTV spots, YouTube pre-roll, TikTok/Reels concepts, or UGC-style ad scripts.
  • Experience with PMM-style messaging, positioning, product launches, or benefit-led campaign development.
  • Familiarity with legal/compliance review processes in financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Experience working at a design-forward consumer fintech, high-growth startup, or performance-heavy creative team.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

The strongest person for this role is not just a general copywriter. They are a performance-minded writer who understands how to make financial products feel simple, useful, and compelling. They can write with speed, clarity, and strategic intent, while also understanding how copy performs in-market.

They should be able to think through different messaging angles, create multiple testable options, and explain how their copy supports acquisition, conversion, and product understanding.
