Turtle Rock Studios is looking for a passionate and well experienced Narrative Lead to own the writing, world building, and execution of our latest and greatest narrative experiences. This role is ideal for someone who is extremely creative, well organized, and hands-on in all narrative related aspects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of core story, writing, and narrative experiences as directed.
- Shepherd the lore and “voice” of the game.
- Make significant creative and process-focused contributions to the game through planning, writing, cinematics, and in-game sequences.
- Collaborate with all disciplines to ensure our narrative goals are successfully planned for, met, and executed on.
- Guide the quality and consistency of narrative within the writing and content teams.
- Edit and create written documents for internal review, milestone delivery, and outsource partnerships.
- Design and implement narrative content directly into missions and gameplay.
- Help manage external partnerships with companies like VO recording groups.
Requirements
- Shipped at least one narrative-based AAA game
- At least 2 years of experience as a professional narrative lead or director in video games
- Experience leading an internal team and working with outsourcing partners
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, process-minded, and well organized
- Well versed in current-gen narrative design workflows
Preferences
- Proficiency in UE5 and Blueprint
- First Person Shooter experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Game Narrative, Theater or Film
- Good sense of perspective - able to switch between "details" and "big picture" as needed
- Passionate about games with a deep understanding of various narrative-driven games released within the history of the medium

The estimated base pay range for this role is: $150,000 - $185,000 USD
