Position Summary:

As the Marketing Associate at Maliyo Games, you will be responsible for shaping, communicating, and growing the Maliyo Games brand across multiple digital marketing platforms. You will own our storytelling, visual identity, campaigns, and content—ensuring that Maliyo Games’s mission, impact, and opportunities are clearly articulated and consistently experienced by our community, partners, and the wider games ecosystem.

This role blends strategic marketing, hands-on content creation, brand stewardship, and performance tracking. You will plan and execute campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and partnerships, while maintaining a strong, authentic voice that reflects Maliyo Games’s values and community-driven ethos.

Your work will directly influence how Maliyo Games is perceived, turning our games, events, achievements, and stories into compelling narratives that inspire participation, trust, and growth.

You are a storyteller, strategist, and creator. You care deeply about clarity and consistency.. You enjoy turning complex ideas into simple, engaging messages and bringing brands to life through intriguing visuals and texts.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Maliyo Games’s marketing and communications strategy across channels
  • Develop and maintain core messaging frameworks for learners, partners, alumni, and sponsors
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate marketing campaigns for applications, events, game jams, and key announcements
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure marketing efforts align with project goals and timelines
  • Create visual assets including posters, social media graphics, slide decks, and presentations
  • Edit and produce short-form and long-form video content to support storytelling for programs, events, and impact reporting
  • Manage and grow Maliyo Games’s blog, newsletters, and email communications
  • Manage Maliyo Games’s social media presence across relevant platforms with authentic, human-led engagement
  • Manage, update, and improve the Maliyo Games website, ensuring clarity, consistency, and conversion
  • Track, analyse, and report on marketing performance (reach, engagement, conversions), using insights to refine strategy and campaigns

Must-Haves

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or brand management
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Visual design skills and comfort creating marketing assets
  • Experience designing websites and digital platforms
  • Familiarity with social media strategy and content planning
  • Video editing and multimedia production skills
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives
