I'm hiring again at Every Inc.—this time, a managing editor for our newsroom. You'll own our daily publishing engine, edit and package select pieces, coordinate our freelance editors, and work closely with me on standards. You'll also help push our AI-assisted editorial workflows further. I'm looking for excellent editorial taste, range from developmental to copy editing, experience running a daily newsroom, and a desire to use AI to raise quality. New York or an equivalent time zone. If that sounds like you, I'd love to hear from you.

Every is hiring a managing editor to own the daily publishing engine behind our editorial work and help run, refine, and scale our AI-native newsroom.
Every is building the only subscription people need to stay at the edge of AI. We do that through a bundle of writing, software, courses, events, and consulting that helps ambitious people understand what’s changing, use AI well, and do their best work. Our editorial work is the soul of that system: it explains the frontier, tests the tools, teaches the workflows, and turns what we’re building inside Every into ideas our readers can use.
This role sits at the center of that system. You’ll keep daily publishing running, help writers and contributors sharpen their ideas, coordinate editors and freelancers, and improve the AI-assisted workflows that make our work clearer, more useful, more rigorous, and more ambitious.
What you’ll do
• Own the daily publishing rhythm and editorial calendar, from assignments and edits through production, approvals, backlog health, and 11 a.m. ET sends
• Edit and package select pieces, from structure, clarity, and line edits to headlines, display copy, CMS production, art coordination, and final polish
• Recruit, brief, coordinate, and give feedback to freelance editors
• Work closely with the editor in chief on top edits, priorities, standards, and publishing decisions
• Help writers and contributors turn strong ideas into Every pieces: new, true, useful, and written for people building with AI
• Source, evaluate, and develop new contributors across our core coverage areas: coding, writing, design, work, AI adoption, and AI-native companies
• Help shape key editorial franchises, including Vibe Checks, Thesis, guides, contributor essays, and newsletter experiments
• Improve our AI-assisted editorial workflows, including AI editing, copyediting, style checks, and editorial auditing
• Collaborate with the creative, growth, product, and consulting teams when editorial work touches broader Every priorities
What we’re looking for
• Excellent editorial taste
• Strong editing range across developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, proofreading, and deadline management
• Experience running a daily or high-frequency publishing operation
• Comfort managing many moving pieces without losing judgment or calm
• Experience managing freelancers, contributors, or outside editors
• A genuine interest in using AI as part of the editorial process as a way to raise quality and increase output
• A sense of what Every readers care about: AI, technology, company-building, workflows, tools, and the future of work
• Comfort working with opinionated writers, founders, operators, and technical subjects
• Based in New York or an equivalent time zone, with availability around our 11 a.m. ET publishing rhythm
What will make someone especially strong
• You’ve built or improved editorial systems at a publication, newsletter, media company, or creator-led editorial business
• You can edit both argument-driven essays and practical how-to pieces
• You understand AI well enough to know what’s interesting, what’s overhyped, and what readers need explained
• You have strong instincts for headlines, framing, packaging, and reader promise
