Hours: 10-20/week (Part-time)

About Noor Kids

Noor Kids is an educational organization that seeks to raise Muslims who build a better world. Through our popular Character-building Program (ages 4-9), families receive new comic-book stories delivered directly in the mail each month to help children learn and love Islam through our evidence-based approach. 

Through the Muslim Treehouse (ages 7-12) we offer online courses that meet twice a week. Participants get to join a community of Muslim kids from around the world and learn about Islam in a fun, interactive way. Last year, we served 500,000 Muslim families across 25 countries. We’re Hiring a Lead Educational Writer

This isn’t your typical “copywriting” job. 

We're looking for someone who loves learning, is excellent at writing, and is naturally curious about parenting, education, psychology, and Islam.

Your work will help Muslim parents navigate the challenges of raising confident children in today's world. You'll spend your time researching, thinking, and writing to create remarkable resources that parents benefit from for years to come. 

Creating Free Educational Resources for Parents (40%)

Our free educational resources for parents are often the first experience families have with Noor Kids. Your job is to create content that parents genuinely want to read.

You'll:

• Research parenting, child development, psychology, education, and Islamic scholarship.
• Translate complex ideas into clear, practical guidance.
• Write downloadable guides, reports, email series, and educational resources.
• Help Noor Kids become known for thoughtful, research-backed parenting advice.
  

Success looks like:

• Parents save your work.
• Parents recommend it to friends.
• Parents trust Noor Kids because your writing consistently makes them think.

Writing our Weekly Newsletter (30%)

Every week, tens of thousands of parents invite Noor Kids into their inbox. This isn't simply an email. It's an opportunity to help parents see their children – and their faith – in a new way.

You'll:

• Develop original ideas worth sharing.
• Connect current events, everyday parenting, and Islamic values.
• Write newsletters that are insightful, practical, and deeply human.
• Create subject lines that accurately reflect meaningful content – not clickbait.
• Develop a recognizable Noor Kids voice that parents look forward to reading.

Success looks like:

• Parents reply.
• Parents forward the newsletter.
• Parents tell us, "I needed to read this today."

Communicating Noor Kids Products and Services (30%)

Exceptional products deserve exceptional communication. You'll help families understand what Noor Kids is, why it exists, and how it can serve them.

This includes:

• Email nurturing campaigns - Write pre-purchase emails that warm leads up — why Noor Kids exists, how we're different, and the value we bring families — and the post-purchase emails that show how the product works, set expectations, and reaffirm their decision to drive retention.
• Website copy -  Craft copypages built to test and speak to distinct marketing personas, with clear value props, strong headlines, and CTAs that earn the click.
• Campaigns & ads - Produce sharp, on-brand copy for paid and organic campaigns, promotions, and seasonal pushes.

Our goal isn't persuasive marketing. Our goal is honest, thoughtful communication that helps families make informed decisions.
