Freelance Media Writer

If you love the media business and can write, I want to hear from you.

Barrett Media is entering its 12th year, and as we prepare for 2027, I'm looking to add some talented people to our contributor network.

When I started the company, our focus was exclusively sports media. Today we cover sports, news and music/radio, while producing written content, video, daily newsletters and an annual industry conference. And we're continuing to evolve.

Most of the opportunities I'm looking to fill are freelance, although larger roles do occasionally become available.

I'm especially interested in people who are passionate about:

• Sports television and radio
• News and cable television
• The personalities, brands and business decisions shaping the media industry

Industry experience helps, but isn't mandatory. What matters most is an ability to write, report and interview; preparation and passion for the issues being covered; strong work ethic and curiosity; and being able to meet deadlines and take direction.
