Seeking Alpha is looking for a part-time freelance Financial News Writer who can spot market-moving developments, quickly understand their significance, and turn them into accurate, engaging news stories for investors.
What You'll Do
- Cover breaking news, M&A, corporate actions, management changes and other market-moving developments involving U.S.-listed companies.
- Monitor SEC filings, company releases, news wires and financial data to identify stories.
- Write sharp, timely headlines, ledes and news stories with a strong investor focus.
- Track stock-price reactions and add relevant market context.
- Work closely with editors to prioritize the most important developments.
- Deliver accurate, well-sourced stories in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in financial, business or market journalism.
- Strong understanding of U.S. stocks and financial markets.
- Ability to quickly interpret earnings releases, SEC filings and corporate announcements.
- Excellent written English and strong news judgment.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines, particularly during U.S. market hours.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Good to Have
- Experience covering U.S.-listed companies.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet or similar financial platforms.
- Finance, economics, journalism or related educational background.
Location: Remote — India
Timing: Part-time, aligned with U.S. market hours (8:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST)
