Salon's culture section is on the hunt for a few great regular freelancers! Wanna be one of them??

What I'm on the hunt for:

Someone who has a passion for broader culture conversations and can quickly turn around a 900-1200 word commentary, with a unique and thoughtful angle, on a subject that's buzzing around social media or captivating discourse in the culture world. Here are a few examples of recent Salon stories that would fall into that bucket:

• What Burning Man's Gen Z problem says about the festival
• Harry Styles is the antidote to MAGA's counterfeit masculinity
• The tradwife brand may finally be crumbling

Rates start at $250, but there's plenty of wiggle room based on length, scope and experience.
