We're growing the editorial bench behind the Semrush blog, and I'm looking for a few great freelance editors.

Substantive editing is becoming a rare skill in content.

Anyone can run a grammar check. What's harder is taking a draft and making the argument sharper, the structure clearer, and the final piece something people actually trust, reference, and cite.

That matters even more as discovery moves into Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other AI search experiences.

What I'm looking for:

• Substantive editing is your primary skill, not just line edits
• You hit deadlines. Consistently.
• You know SEO deeply and are genuinely curious about AI search

What will set someone apart:

• A background in SaaS, journalism, or both
• Low ego, high standards. More coach than gatekeeper
• Willing to push back on a brief, positioning, or editorial direction when something isn't working
