This is a remote freelance position with consistent weekly work available for reliable contributors.

  • Maintain a balanced, non-partisan tone when covering policy, regulations, or industry controversies
  • Craft engaging headlines and introductions that capture readers’ interest
  • Conduct research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the U.S. automotive industry (manufacturers, trucks, pricing trends, enthusiast culture, reliability debates, etc.)
  • Ability to identify and explain trending automotive topics
  • Writing style that is engaging, witty, and conversational when appropriate
  • Ability to explain technical or industry topics in plain English
  • Awareness of social media trends and online car culture
  • Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
  • Published writing samples (automotive preferred)

Note: Applicants do not need to be located in the United States, but familiarity with the U.S. auto market is important.

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

  • Experience writing for digital media or high-traffic websites
  • Familiarity with SEO and headline writing
  • Knowledge of automotive history or enthusiast communities
  • Experience covering viral or social-driven stories
