We need a *Creative Director, Video* because there's a big opportunity to:
1️⃣ Educate customers and prospects on video best practices, including in our product

This isn't just someone who can edit videos well.

I'm really looking for someone who can creatively direct their own videos that feel distinct—not formulaic—and that align with our design-centric brand.

Hi! 👋

I'm Natalie Taylor, Head of Marketing. And we're Capsule—we just raised a Series A and are building AI-powered video tools for enterprise teams. We're led by two serial founders who have built and scaled creative platforms for 100s of millions of people. Our investors include Innovation Endeavors, HubSpot Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Swift Ventures, Human Ventures, and the same investors as iconic creative tools like Figma, Webflow, Frame.io, and Replit.

Capsule is the first video editing tool built exclusively for work, and we're growing incredibly fast. Just a few months after leaving public beta, our video editor is already helping 100s of enterprises like HubSpot, ServiceNow, and Instacart create professional, brand-compliant videos at scale.

The Role

We're looking for a business-minded, storytelling-centric Creative Director, Video who can help us reach and build an audience, increase sales-qualified opportunities, and position Capsule as a thought leader.

Our vision is for Capsule to become the industry-leading learning center for all things enterprise video and be known as the company that trained an entire generation of employees to harness the power of video. Similar to what Powerpoint did for slides, we believe Capsule will do for video.

We're hiring for this role because we believe there is a massive opportunity to:

  • Educate customers and prospects on video best practices, including in our product
  • Build on the initial success of our LinkedIn and YouTube video content
  • Help us own a topic that is positioned for growth

You'll work directly with me and our CEO to build a content engine that grows brand awareness, helps us meet revenue goals, and engages our existing community. This isn't just about creating beautiful videos—it's about becoming the definitive resource for all things enterprise video, motion design systems, and brand governance in video.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute our content strategy with video as the primary format
  • Create diverse content including event coverage, customer case studies, thought leadershipproduct updates, and customer success materials
  • Help us build content for motiondesignsystems.com as the industry resource for best practices and thought leadership
  • Transform conversations with SMEs and customers into compelling narratives
  • Use Capsule extensively, providing feedback that helps shape and improve the product
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to create high-converting content that impacts our pipeline
  • Establish a consistent publishing cadence across LinkedIn and YouTube and measure content performance
  • Manage freelancers and eventually build and lead a content team as we scale

Who You Are

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 4-8 years of experience creating content that drives business results, ideally in B2B SaaS, design tools, or creative technology
  • Have a journalistic mindset—you know how to ask the right questions, identify the compelling story, and translate complex ideas into accessible content
  • Have a design-centric perspective with a deep appreciation for visual communication and motion design (you don't need to be a designer, but you should speak their language)
  • Think like a distribution strategist—you create with the end channel and conversion goals in mind
  • Are naturally curious about enterprise creative workflows and can quickly become fluent in the challenges facing in-house creative teams
  • Can toggle between strategic thinking and hands-on execution—we're a startup, and you'll need to both plan the roadmap and help create the content
  • Have experience with video production and a good eye for effective video content
  • Are comfortable with data and can use metrics to inform your content decisions
  • Enjoy being a product power user and contributing to product development
  • Enjoy the sport of making a huge impact with modest resources
  • Are comfortable on camera and know your way around a video editing tool
