Contract Editor

Launch Potato is introducing a new content brand this spring focused on service journalism for travelers. We're looking for an editor to help launch and lead the day-to-day editorial operations.

This is a remote, contract position (~20 hours/week) starting with pre-launch content development and transitioning to ongoing editorial management after launch. You'll work with our founding team to manage the editorial calendar, work with freelancers, and ensure every story we publish delivers on our brand standards.

Our ideal candidate has:
✅ 5+ years of editorial experience in travel, lifestyle, or service journalism
✅ Strong existing relationships with freelance travel writers
✅ Travel writing experience or deep personal travel knowledge
✅ SEO fluency and an understanding of what performs for syndication, email, social media, and other distribution channels
✅ Ability to quickly learn new tools (proprietary CMS) and acclimate to brand guidelines
✅ Capacity to work independently with mostly flexible hours
