Content Manager
BacklightThe Backlight marketing team is looking for a writer / content manager to jump in for 5 months while our lead writer is on leave. This is a temporary role, 20-30 hours per week.
The ideal person for this role is a writing Swiss army knife: a knack for campaign work and big ideas, but also loves to dive into a blog article, and isn't afraid to create an email nurture campaign. We're a small and mighty team, so we're looking for someone who can largely PM their own work and is happy to jump in wherever they're needed.
What you'll do
- Produce content across case studies, website copy, digital ads, and marketing materials.
- Support webinar production with scripts and promotional content.
- Manage the full project lifecycle from research through publishing.
- Handle CMS publishing, formatting, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams.
- Maintain a consistent voice and editorial standards.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated copywriting ability in long-form and short-form formats.
- Project ownership mindset with end-to-end content management capability.
- Hands-on CMS experience.
- Editorial judgment emphasizing authentic, benefit-driven writing.
- Self-direction and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Bonus: B2B SaaS or media technology writing experience.
Location: Fully remote (US). 20-30 hours per week for five months.
