The Role

Exit Five is building the #1 resource for B2B marketing professionals. Our content machine is built on curation—our community creates the expertise. They are the ones doing the work inside of B2B companies right now. Our audience loves examples of what’s working and what’s not. Your job is to take what they share and turn it into top-level content that actually reaches B2B marketers everywhere. You’re part content engineer, part systems builder, part distribution strategist.

This role owns three channels: podcast, newsletter, and webinars—and is responsible for the full production and distribution cycle: producing the content, distributing it, and measuring what lands.

Jobs To Be Done

1. Podcast

You own the full production and distribution system for the Exit Five podcast. When a Dave Kellogg episode drops, that means:

  • Writing a hook-first title that stops the scroll
  • Designing a custom thumbnail
  • Pulling 3–5 clips from the episode and editing them for YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and social with proper YouTube SEO tagging
  • Drafting the email to Dave letting him know the episode is live and asking him to share it
  • Writing suggested copy for Dave Gerhardt’s LinkedIn and the Exit Five company page
  • Tracking performance: which topics drive downloads, which clip formats perform on which platforms, which guests generate the most engagement

You’re not handing off assets. You’re thinking through the full distribution strategy for every episode and feeding that data back into who we book next.

2. Newsletter

The Exit Five newsletter goes out Tuesday and Thursday. You own it. That means:

  • Creating Dave’s newsletter, capturing his voice, his directness, his style
  • Building the system to pull the best insights from podcast transcripts and turn them into newsletter content or interviewing him to get additional anecdotes
  • Working with our sponsorship team on ad copy and placement
  • Owning open rates and engagement not just tracking them, but iterating based on what you learn
  • Laying the groundwork for scaling: eventually Exit Five has two or three creators with their own newsletters. You’re building the systems that make that possible.

3. Webinars

Twice a month we run webinars, typically with a sponsor. You own the full program not just the logistics, but the experience itself.

  • Running prep calls with speakers
  • Coordinating kickoff calls with sponsors and managing ad reads
  • Running production on the day of
  • Repurposing the recording into clips, newsletter content, and social posts

Beyond execution, you’re constantly asking: How do we make this recurring event better? How do we improve production quality? How do we make attendees happier? How do we make sponsors happier? You own the webinar as a product, not just a calendar item.

4. Content Engineering & Distribution

One great piece of content should become many. You understand how to:

  • Use AI tools to streamline production by turning transcripts into newsletters, recordings into clips, one webinar into a week of social content
  • Optimize for YouTube SEO and understand how the algorithm works
  • Measure performance across channels and use that data to make editorial decisions not just vanity metrics, but whether we’re attracting the right audience and driving community growth

About You

  • You have 3–5 years of experience in content marketing, ideally in B2B or SaaS.
  • You've owned at least one content channel end-to-end — whether that's a newsletter, podcast, or webinar program — and you have strong opinions about what makes business content actually worth paying attention to.
  • You understand how to turn one piece of content into many. A recorded conversation becomes a newsletter, a clip, a social post. You think in systems, not one-offs.
  • You can share specific examples of how you're using AI in your work today to move faster and produce better output.
  • You're organized and detail-oriented; multiple projects can be in flight at once without things slipping.
  • You bring creativity and new ideas, but you also love process and consistency. Both matter here.
  • You're a clear, direct communicator and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team.

Bonus: you have basic audio/video editing experience, have worked with design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma), or have dabbled in YouTube SEO.

A Note On Hiring For This Role In 2026

There is a LOT in this job description. We understand that. But here’s what is important to know.

No one is going to walk in the door having done everything in this job description. That's not what we're looking for.

We're looking for someone who's genuinely passionate about content and hungry to help us grow. Someone who has proven they're great at one thing—and has the drive to figure out everything else. Because of what's possible with AI today, we believe the right person can become a full-stack content marketer on the job. You don't need to be a YouTube SEO expert on day one. You need to care enough to go learn it.

The specific channel experience matters less than the person. Are you curious? Are you resourceful? Do you care about quality? Do you want to help build something? With the right mindset and the tools available today, there's no knowledge gap that can't be closed. We're hiring the person first, the skill set second.

Why Join Exit Five?

This is an opportunity to join a profitable, bootstrapped company with a tight-knit team and a big vision. We’re building a content and community-first business for B2B marketers, and you’ll be at the heart of how we create and share that content.

If you want to shape how thousands of marketers learn, connect, and grow—while doing great work in a flexible, remote-first environment—we want to hear from you.
