Brand and Content Marketing Manager

YBL Accounting

Full-time
Remote
Canada
$65,000 - $90,000 CAD yearly
B2B Content Marketing, Social Media, Email Marketing, Design and Video

The next person I hire will work closer to me than anyone, and own everything YBL and I put into the world.

Except my own writing. I'm keeping that.

A YouTube channel, 2 newsletters, presentations, a live AI workshop series, and sponsor partnerships running through all of it.

That's the role.

Remote, anywhere, and reports straight to me. Closer to Toronto is a bonus but not a requirement.

You'd own all of it. The graphics, the decks, the newsletters, the events, the sponsor deliverables. Idea to design to send, same week, all you.

Nobody sitting on your work for 3 weeks deciding whether a social media post is allowed to go out. And you'd make the work, not brief someone else to make it. That's the whole point of the seat.

To be clear, I'm looking for a unicorn here, and I know it.

Design ability and daily AI use are the bar. Not curiosity about AI, actual daily use to make better work. The rest we can figure out.

This is the hire I've been most excited about in a long time, and whoever lands it is going to have a blast.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, I'd love to work with you!

Posted by: Mike Libbey, CEO

Full-time, permanent. Reports to: CEO (Mike Libbey). Remote, anywhere (Toronto area a bonus). $65,000 - $90,000.

A note from Mike

Up to now our marketing has been spread across a few people and a lot of moving parts. It works, but it's disjointed, and sometimes that shows. We're growing quickly and evolving fast, and what we need now is one person owning all of it end to end rather than pieces of it sitting in different places.

So this is not a role where you slot into someone else's system. You'd be the first person to own all of it, full time, and you'd be building it.

On the day to day, you make the work. You don't brief someone else to make it. The graphics, the posts, the newsletter build. And you keep the machine around it running too, the sponsor deliverables, the event details, the dates that can't slip. It's both halves, not one.

We're a 30 person accounting firm with over 3,000 clients. We run live AI workshops that are expanding into new cities. We have real software sponsors paying to be in the room. There's a newsletter (actually, 2), a YouTube channel, and my own LinkedIn, which is a big part of how people find us. All of that would be yours to own.

One thing to be clear though. My personal channels stay in my voice. You wouldn't be writing as me or taking over my accounts. You'd support them behind the scenes with graphics, scheduling and repurposing. The YBL channels and the newsletter are yours.

I move fast. I want someone who moves faster than me and tells me when I'm wrong. If you need everything perfectly defined before you start, this will be frustrating for both of us. And AI is not a bonus skill here, it's ingrained in how we work.

What you actually get here

  • A real audience from day one. Over 3,000 clients, an email newsletter, a YouTube channel, a LinkedIn newsletter, and a CEO who posts most weekdays. You are not building from zero.
  • Full ownership, end to end. The YBL channels and the newsletter are yours from the idea to the design to the send.
  • You work directly with the CEO, not through two layers. Fast decisions, direct feedback, and your work going live the same week you make it.
  • Real things to point at. A live AI workshop series expanding into new cities, software sponsors paying to be in the room, and a growing newsletter.
  • An AI-first firm that means it. We build our own internal tools. You get the budget, the tools and the room to work the way you already want to.
  • You are building the function, not filling a seat.

You will not be doing all of it alone, but you will be running it

  • An external video partner (We Are Visualize) for filming, editing, B-roll and the YouTube visuals, thumbnails included. Design is not theirs, it is yours.
  • Admin and ops support for scheduling and logistics.
  • Budget for contractors when something genuinely needs a specialist.

Brand, content and social

  • Own regular posting across YBL's social channels, and support the CEO's personal channels with graphics, scheduling, and publishing
  • Grow and engage the audience on YBL's channels, including community management and responding to comments
  • Repurpose long-form content such as YouTube videos and the newsletter into social cuts that travel
  • Own a content calendar and consistently ship against it
  • Write in YBL's brand voice for social posts, captions, and short-form copy
  • Use AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to produce and scale content faster without losing quality or voice

Newsletter, email and CRM

  • Own our newsletter end to end: editing, assembly, scheduling, and delivery
  • Manage the production rhythm so issues go out on time, every time
  • Build and send marketing campaigns and sequences
  • Keep our email lists clean and properly structured, including segments, lists, and automations
  • Own list hygiene and CRM data accuracy across our marketing tools, including reconciliation between Karbon and Mailchimp

Visual and graphic content

  • Own the full visual range in-house, from everyday social graphics to sponsor decks, event signage and partner-facing materials
  • Produce fast, on-brand visuals for social, the CEO's posts, sponsors and events
  • Design is all yours. We do not send it out, so nothing here waits on an outside designer
  • Use AI as part of how you design, not just how you write. Claude, Canva, Figma and whatever else gets you there faster

Partnerships, sponsorships and events

  • Coordinate sponsor deliverables across every channel they run in: YouTube integrations, newsletter placements, LinkedIn, the workshop series and live events
  • Track what is promised, what is due, and what has shipped, and chase it down
  • Work with sponsors to get the language and angle right on sponsored posts, placements and reads
  • Build and maintain sponsorship rate cards
  • Be the point person who keeps partner relationships moving day to day
  • Run logistics and promotion for our workshop series across multiple cities

YouTube

  • Own scheduling, SEO, and upload optimization
  • Coordinate sponsorship integrations on video
  • Coordinate with our video partner on production timing so shoot days and publishing stay in sync
  • Filming, editing, B-roll and thumbnails sit with our video partner, not this role
  • You do not need to arrive knowing any of this. If you have never run a channel, we will train you on it

Website and analytics

  • Handle website management and updates, including benchmarking competitor sites and troubleshooting issues
  • Own tracking, reporting, and marketing analytics
  • Report on what is working and feed it back into content and channel decisions
  • Manage and evaluate external agency relationships

Qualifications

  • Daily, hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to produce real work. Not curiosity, not experiments.
  • Strong design ability across the full range, using tools such as Canva, Figma and AI. Design is entirely in-house here, so we need this on day one.
  • Strong writing, and the ability to hold a brand voice that is not your own and keep it consistent.
  • A portfolio of work you personally made. Real posts, scripts, graphics, newsletters or campaigns you created, not just managed.
  • A bias toward shipping. Fast, at a high bar, without being chased.

Everything below helps but is not required:

  • 3+ years in brand, content or marketing execution, ideally close to a founder or a personal brand
  • Running social channels and owning a content calendar
  • Email marketing and email platforms such as beehiiv or Mailchimp
  • Some comfort with website management or troubleshooting, such as Shopify, Webflow or WordPress
  • YouTube packaging such as titles, chapters and SEO
  • Coordinating sponsors, deliverables and events without dropping details
  • Building AI workflows, custom assistants or automations beyond everyday use
  • Karbon, Notion, or any exposure to accounting and professional services
