This role is responsible for the planning, creation, and optimization of blog content that drives engagement, supports SEO performance, and reinforces our brand voice in support of one or more Thryv products and/or marketing strategies. Creating and strategizing compelling content that not only drives traffic but resonates with the pain points our products solve, this role is an architect behind our content strategy, ensuring that content aligns with our standards of excellence and works hand-in-hand with our SEO goals.

Responsibilities

  • Produces on-going, external-facing content by researching, verifying facts, identifying trends, and conducting interviews of customers, industry experts, product specialists, and resident Thryv gurus.
  • Executes on a blog content strategy that supports and extends our overall brand objectives.Refines content strategy and editorial standards. Writes, edits, and overses a consistent cadence of high-quality content.
  • Collaborates with marketing and product teams, ensuring consistency in message, writing style, brand voice, and tone across all communications channels, working to optimize content for maximum visibility and engagement.
  • Identifies industry trends and relevant strategies, conveying complex or technical ideas in common language that embodies the Thryv voice and champions small businesses.
  • Manages a content calendar to ensure timely publication and content variety, while coordinating internal and external writers to maintain high-quality, consistent blog content aligned with brand voice and goals.
  • Stays up to date on industry activity, providing story-line pitches and content-driven project ideas to contribute to a robust content strategy, and acting as a subject matter expert on Thryv’s platform and features.
  • Owns blog performance by tracking weekly and monthly metrics to assess content effectiveness and inform strategic direction. Drives qualified traffic and leads through strong SEO expertise and data-informed content decisions.
  • Collaborates with content strategists across various platforms (e.g., YouTube, social media) to maximize the reach and impact of our content.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent), or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of related experience, required.
  • 9+ years of related experience, preferred.
  • Content strategy, digital marketing, marketing content development, blog and email newsletter writing, proofreading, editing, and/or journalism experience, required.
  • Strong industry knowledge with an understanding of content creation.
  • Technical acumen with the ability to utilize industry related tools (SEM Rush, AI Overview, Basic HTML/CSS, WordPress, Google and/or Adobe analytics, Google Search Console, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Ability to act as the expert on Thryv products and related marketing strategies, identifying trends, concepts, and significant statistical information to boost effectiveness of content and propel Thryv’s thought leadership position.
  • Strong communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to effectively tailor to various target markets and demographics.
  • Ability to maintain a commitment to excellence, aiming to build and uphold a best-in-class B2B brand by being highly creative and able to take ownership of writing projects with an eye for brand and design.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and handle feedback constructively.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities with competing deadlines, communicating any challenges proactively.
  • Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses, as needed.
