Bumble is looking for an Associate Manager, Social Media who lives and breathes social – someone deeply tapped into internet culture, excited to make content, and eager to build their creative instincts and career in social media and brand marketing.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Social Media, you'll work closely with our Social Media Manager on the day-to-day execution of Bumble's social presence across key platforms. You'll help keep our channels active and culturally relevant by engaging with our community, attending events, spotting emerging trends, supporting social listening and reporting, publishing content, and jumping in to capture and create content yourself.
We're looking for someone who is just as comfortable organizing a content calendar as they are picking up an iPhone to film—or stepping in front of the camera themselves. You don't need to be an expert editor yet, but you should be excited to learn, experiment, and develop your content creation skills.
What You'll Do
Content Creation & Capture
- Support the Social Media Manager in creating platform-native content for Bumble across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Be comfortable getting in front of the camera and appearing in Bumble social content.
- Capture social-first photo and video content on an iPhone at events, activations, shoots, around the office, and in everyday cultural moments.
- Confidently approach and engage people to participate in social content when a concept calls for it.
- Develop your instincts for strong social-first content, including hooks, framing, pacing, storytelling, and editing.
- Experiment with platform features, trending formats, sounds, and editing styles, proactively pitching ideas that feel relevant to Bumble.
- Edit short-form video using CapCut and other social-first tools, turning raw footage, creator content, UGC, and existing brand assets into engaging, platform-native content.
Cultural Listening, Insights & POV
- Stay closely tapped into TikTok, Instagram, emerging platforms, and internet culture, regularly surfacing trends, conversations, creators, and behaviors relevant to Bumble and our audience.
- Monitor conversations around dating, relationships, singles culture, and Gen Z behavior to identify emerging themes and opportunities.
Analytics & Optimization
- Monitor content performance across Bumble's social channels and identify patterns in what's working, what's not, and why across hooks, formats, topics, and creative approaches.
- Track weekly performance and support monthly and campaign-level reporting.
About You
- 1–2 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, community management, content creation, or a related field, including relevant internships or freelance experience.
- You spend a lot of time on TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms and have strong instincts for how people actually communicate on them.
- You're comfortable being on camera and excited to appear in Bumble content when needed.
- You have experience with short-form video editing or are excited to develop your skills.
- You're a strong writer and curious about understanding what makes content perform.
Location
This role is based in New York, NY. We have a dynamic working environment, meaning we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution for where you work. This role will require travel and flexibility to attend events, activations, and cultural moments outside of traditional working hours, including some evenings and weekends, as well as occasional travel.
