We are partnering with our media client to recruit a Writing and Editorial Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, fully remote in the US. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as the lead brand steward and voice advocate for written content and brand communications. This brand functions at the intersection of entertainment, wellness and spirituality, and you will serve as both a tactical writer and the leader of a small team of writing staff. You will master and facilitate the brand voice across all communications, including website content, digital campaigns, educational materials, speeches, scripts and similar. You will also serve as a true thought leadership partner to senior leadership and talent, ideating and creating experiences, speeches and content to align with individual voices. To be a fit, you should bring 10+ years of experience in writing, content, communications or similar roles with an editorial feel. You must bring experience managing direct reports, guiding editorial strategy, and working with senior leaders on thought leadership content. Experience in the wellness space is strongly preferred.

This is a growing brand with a tight-knit feel but big reach! You will have the opportunity to inform content strategy and experience for a constantly growing audience. This is a fully remote role for US-based candidates, with flexibility to work across time zones being paramount for consideration. Compensation from $110,000 to $120,000 annually, and the brand does provide bonus potential after your first year of employment. You will:

  • Serve as the lead brand steward and voice advocate for written content and communications for the brand, working closely with cross-functional teams and departments to align content strategy and voice with integrated goals
  • Lead a small team of direct reports, guiding hiring, performance management and department priorities; Serve as an editorial resource and SME in the brand voice and guidelines to integrated teams
  • Work closely with senior leaders within the organization and partner media personalities to curate content and materials that align with company goals and individual brands
  • Write, edit and scope content projects for the brand, delivering finalized work that is aligned with campaign or larger project goals
  • Advocate for brand and voice guidelines that further the company’s mission, reach and impact

Your experience should include:

  • 10 years of combined writing, editorial, content and/or communications experience
  • Industry experience in entertainment, media, wellness or similar consumer spaces, strongly preferred; Interest in or passion for these spaces, required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a high level of grammar, diction and editing skill
  • Deep knowledge of integrated content and communications, with experience writing and editing digital content, campaigns, thought leadership materials, scripts and similar
  • Experience leading small teams of direct reports and serving as a senior-level editing resource
  • Strong understanding of SEO and GEO to drive traffic through organic content
  • Experience partnering closely with senior leaders to scope thought leadership content
