JOB PROFILE FOR THE NPAID PROJECT
Position Title: Visual Storyteller
Project: Nigeria Peace Actors and Initiatives in Data (NPAID)
Work Arrangement: Full-time, Abuja-based
Project Duration: August 2026 to February 2027
About the Project
Nigeria Peace Actors and Initiatives in Data (NPAID) is a PeaceTech project implemented by the Conflict Research Network West Africa (CORN West Africa). The project applies innovative data and digital methods to gather and analyse information on peace programmes, events, activities, and key peace actors — including individuals, groups, and institutions — across Nigeria, generating evidence that supports peacebuilding and stability in the country.
Position Summary
The Visual Storyteller will lead the design and production of visual content across the project. This includes research reports, policy briefs, infographics, presentations, social media content, and other knowledge products that communicate the project's work to policymakers, development partners, civil society organisations, researchers, and local peace actors.
The role requires someone who can present complex research findings and data in ways that are clear, engaging, and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the project's visual identity and ensure consistent branding across all products and platforms.
- Design reports, policy briefs, research publications, presentations, newsletters, campaign materials, and other project communications.
- Work closely with the research team to transform research findings, conflict data, and statistical information into clear, engaging infographics and visual products.
- Produce graphics and digital content for the project website and social media platforms.
- Ensure all visual products meet donor branding, marking, and accessibility requirements.
- Stay current with emerging trends in information design and digital communication.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or information design.
- Demonstrated experience producing reports, publications, infographics, and other knowledge products for development organisations.
- Strong proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and other design software.
- Experience working in the international development sector is desirable.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and high-quality design work.
