The Sage Group's top client is searching for a UX Writer. In this role you will deliver writing support and content for a free online mapping service that provides detailed information about locations worldwide.
In particular, you'll learn and apply writing standards to new kinds of content work that ultimately improves search quality in our client's products. You'll also work closely with a UX Writing Lead to evolve these guidelines and content for different types of user and product use cases, and review and quality check similar content delivered by other writing groups.
You'll partner with Product, Engineering, and other teams to identify and resolve problems, and deliver work on-time against regular product deadlines and milestones. You'll also deliver other critical aspects of this content work, including but not limited to evaluation, editing, training, and localization work.
Role responsibilities
- Write clear, concise user-interface text and related content for products.
- Learn, apply, and evolve writing and content guidelines for a particular user experience.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for these guidelines.
- Drive clear and consistent product language and content across a given domain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners from inception through execution.
- Guide context for translations and collaborate with linguists and local stakeholders to ensure local sensitivity and understanding.
- Deliver model training content for Generative AI experiences
Minimum qualifications
- Experience in writing for consumer-facing user-interfaces, technical writing, journalism, communications, or specialized writing, such as science, education, or legal writing.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience, including partnering with Eng, Product,UX and other cross-functional teams to build products
- Experience in user-focused product writing, including work in hardware, software, digital agencies, or other relevant settings.
- Proven ability to learn and apply writing and content standards with minimal supervision, attention-to-detail, and consistent high-quality deliverables.
- Portfolio of writing work.
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience developing information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites.
- Experience with localization and accessibility best practices.
- Knowledge of online technology and related products, including web and mobile UI and tools.
- Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices and how to use data to provide informed user insights.
- Basic knowledge of a design tool like Figma
Location: Remote, USA
Duration: 1 Year; opportunity to extend
Pay: $90/hr
