WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Temporary Content Marketing Manager will serve as a hands-on content operator supporting the Recording Academy’s industry-facing owned media channels. 

This role will be embedded within an established Industry Marketing & Engagement work group that actively programs and tracks ongoing content initiatives. The focus of this position is execution — writing, building, producing, and supporting content efforts — while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery. 

Primary responsibilities will center on email newsletter production, with additional support across web editorial and other content formats as needed, including audio or long-form programming initiatives. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between formats while maintaining strong editorial standards. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Newsletter Production & Execution 

  • Support end-to-end production of the Academy’s industry-facing email newsletter 
  • Write and edit copy aligned with established programming direction and brand voice 
  • Build, QA, and deploy newsletters within the email platform 
  • Coordinate assets, links, and approvals across internal stakeholders 
  • Monitor performance metrics and contribute insights to ongoing optimization efforts 

Cross-Channel Content Support 

  • Contribute to web editorial updates and related owned media initiatives 
  • Assist with content coordination across digital platforms to ensure alignment 
  • Support production of emerging content formats, including podcast, audio or long-form programming, as needed 
  • Maintain documentation, calendars, and trackers that support ongoing programming 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • 3–5+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or owned media 
  • Hands-on experience supporting newsletter production 
  • Experience contributing to multi-format content (email, web, audio, etc.) 
  • Experience supporting podcast production strongly preferred 
  • Familiarity with content analytics and performance reporting strongly preferred 
  • Experience in the music or entertainment industry strongly preferred 
  • Strong copywriting and editorial skills 
  • Experience producing recurring content (newsletters, podcasts, web editorial, or similar) 
  • Understanding of digital content production workflows 
  • Comfortable working within established content strategies and processes 
  • Strong attention to detail in QA, scheduling, and asset management 
  • Ability to manage multiple content streams simultaneously 
  • Collaborative and effective in cross-functional team environments

The pay rate for this position is between $35 - $40 per hour.
