Technical Writer

Siemens Government Technologies seeks an experienced Technical Writer to spearhead our Electronic Security System (ESS-VII) and our UMCS V contracts for the technical writing and the deliverables of the design, engineering, procurement, installation, maintenance, and services at all U.S. Army Corps of Engineer (USACE) projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce the USACE Request For Proposal (RFP) technical and logistical responses per requirements for the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and Utility Management Control System (UMCS).
• Develop and produce the ESS and UMCS technical responses, installations, and Maintenance & Services (M&S) Schedules.
• Develop and produce task order awards projects set up into Resident Management System (RMS) for USACE Huntsville ESS & UMCS programs.
• Deliverables include (but are not limited to):
  • UMCS / ESS / FRR Proposals
  • Technical Detail Matrixes
  • Manufacturer Data Cut Sheets (MFD)
  • Software Data
  • System Description Analysis
  • Operator and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals
  • M&S Manuals
  • Site Visit Abbreviated Accident Prevention Plan (SVAAPP)
  • Limited Scope Abbreviated Accident Prevention Plan (LSAAPP)
  • Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
  • Shop drawings and As-built drawings, interpreting, and drawing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics
• Submit, track, and document all outgoing and incoming technical documentation, grades, comments, approvals, and deliverables in RMS and SharePoint.
• Develop, create, and maintain a library of data documents (soft and hard copies) per USACE requirements.
• Develop, produce, review, and submit a variety of written documents including memoranda, trip reports, and telegraphic correspondence.

Requirements

• B.S. degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent years of experience.
• Must have experience with the USACE Huntsville ESS and UMCS programs.
• Must have an understanding of the UFC and UFGS guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ESS and UMCS contracts.
• Active and current CAC Card, or ability to obtain.
• Active and current Secret Security clearance, or ability to obtain.

Security Clearance

• Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. federal agency Secret security clearance.

Compensation:

• Pay range: $97,300 – $131,300 annually
• Target incentive: 10% of base salary
• Actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
