This is a remote, freelance (subcontracting) position that requires at least 2-4 hours of daily overlap with IST timezone. The role involves collaborating with other team members, mainly designers and tech, across multiple touchpoints.

We’re looking for writers with experience in writing and strategising campaigns (And funnels) in e-commerce, B2B services, and memberships and course creators space. Hey, we’re Alefiya and Ilyas, founders of Nomads Marketing.
About Nomads
We’re Alefiya and Ilyas, founders of Nomads Marketing — a strategy-first quiz funnel agency of strategists, copywriters, and conversion specialists who build funnels that turn cold audiences into sales-ready buyers.
We’ve worked with leaders like Lara Acosta, Nausheen I. Chen, Samar Owais, Chanti Zak, and brands such as Music Patron, Golfbays, Heartbeat, ScoreApp, and Interact.
Nomads exists to support brilliant, stretched-thin founders by giving them predictable acquisition and clarity in their marketing. Our proprietary Conversion Quiz Ecosystem is built on deep research, consumer psychology, and full-funnel execution.
ROI is a responsibility.
We treat every project like it should pay for itself, and we make decisions that move the needle.
Ownership over mistakes.
We believe in fixing, learning, and improving — not hiding or blaming.
Be human and have fun.
We do meaningful work, but we keep the energy light, curious, and collaborative.
Effort builds empires.
We push for excellence, not shortcuts, because the best work comes from intentional focus.
Always be learning.
We invest in skills, thinking, and mentorship because growth fuels better funnels and better results.
You understand audience psychology and the stages of awareness. Every line you write has a purpose and is backed by VOC.
You’re not afraid of AI, but you’re not using AI as a shortcut, but to deliver 125%. And you’re aware when AI kills the writer in you, hence when to avoid it.
Here’s an example:
Good Copy Example | Why it’s good |
Love the specificity here, its almost as if you can FEEL the words in 3D form, NOTICE the italics that adds drama
Notice the whole narrative from headline to button, it’s one core IDEA: your system relies on your memory. |
Copy that doesn’t tickle the pickle of the buyer | Why? |
Usually bad copy leaves a “Ugh, not again” taste in your mouth, and where you’re eyerolling because you’ve heard the message so many times, there’s nothing FRESSHHH
Lack of specificity, what does “Get more control” mean, how does it manifest into a gamers life, that specificity would completely overhaul this messaging |
You present work in a way that’s easy to follow and visually clean. And you compliment it with a loom that gives a clear window into your thinking and logic.
Wireframe example:
You don’t ship sloppy work. You catch your own grammar mistakes (although your work will go through an editor).
You take initiative. You move fast. But you also know when to ask for context, when to align, and when to collaborate. You own your 60% fully, while using the remaining 40% to bounce ideas and sharpen direction with the team.
You don’t just follow orders. You think critically and question assumptions when needed. You bring ideas to the table, offer alternatives, and help us make the strategy stronger.
You communicate with clarity and professionalism. You keep the team updated, ask smart questions, and stay aligned through the sprint.
You study what’s working in funnels, copy, and conversions. You show up eager to improve — every project, every week, every deliverable. But you also stick to your grounds of psychology and not race to keep on top of every new strategy or tool.
Everything that goes out the door — after our internal checks — reflects thought, clarity, and craft. You’re proud of the work because it’s not rushed or half-baked. It’s the kind of work that sets a new internal standard each time.
This is a remote, freelance position (subcontracting position).
You’ll be working on full-funnel projects, from research to copy to strategy and wireframing, so you should be comfortable collaborating across multiple touchpoints and owning your deliverables from start to finish.
You’ll be client-facing, so confidence on calls, clear communication, and professionalism are musts.
You should have a quiet workspace, high-speed internet, and a strong camera presence since you’ll be on client calls and internal reviews. Excellent spoken English is required.
Our working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. IST, and we require at least 2-4 hours of overlap within that window for internal syncs and client calls.
You’ll get “unlimited questions” access to me throughout your first project to make sure everything meets Nomads’ standards of excellence. You’ll spend your first 7 days familiarizing yourself with our work, tools, and processes before starting on active deliverables.
Deadlines are non-negotiable, but flexibility in how you get there is yours to manage.
If a deliverable is due on Day 10 and you take Day 6 off, that’s fine as long as quality and deadlines are never compromised. Keep me / the OBM updated on your daily agenda, progress in the sprint, any roadblocks, and where you need support to deliver your best work on time.
You’re expected to be proactive, but not at the cost of alignment or quality. I’d rather you ask 100 questions to get it right than move ahead in the wrong direction.
This is a long-term collaboration for the right fit. We’re a lean, growing team, and I’m looking for someone who’s hungry to evolve, takes full ownership of their craft, and knows how to balance ambition with reliability.
If you’re the kind of person who delivers exceptional work, respects your own limits, and refuses to overcommit or underdeliver, we’ll get along great.
The bar is too low when it comes to people applying for positions.
You can easily stand out by:
• Being creative. You’re applying for a copywriter role — show off your copy chops.
• Following the rules (for example, applicants who ignore the request for just one email sample and instead share their entire portfolio automatically show that they’re not great at following briefs).
• Mirroring how you fit the criteria.
You might have been writing for a year, but what other experiences make you a perfect fit for this role?
Maybe you’ve written theatre plays at school, THAT counts.
Maybe you’ve managed the university event, and you’re great at management.
Maybe you also have design or video skills, show how that work complements this role.
If you’ve been trained by any of these mentors (through courses or 1:1 mentorship), you automatically climb up the ladder in the application process:
Beyond these trusted mentors ^, I am generally interested in hearing how committed you are to learning and how you have improved your copy skills over the years.
I have a PhD in Islamic and Arabic studies, and here I am running a Quiz Funnel agency, so definitely this is not to assess you based on your former education. But for my final year, I wrote a dissertation that got the highest marks out of 100 other dissertations, and it added a lot to my research and argument framing experience.
I want to hear such stories from you.
Besides that, if you have a degree in:
1. English Literature
2. Journalism
3. Psychology
4. Philosophy
5. Law
6. Experience is Theatre or Creative arts
7. Teaching/Education
8. Sociology/Anthropology
^They make for great copywriters, so your application will be given more attention.
✅ You can dedicate 6 hours/day on most days. You control your own hours, but you’re comfortable with working on a sprint and completing projects on time.
✅ This ain’t your first rodeo at copywriting, you’ve at least worked on 5+ copy projects before.
You brainstorm 30+ headlines and pick the top 5. Every deliverable you share is polished. Lazy AI output without context, messy docs, poor formatting, or unthought-out messaging hierarchy is unacceptable to you.
You treat each project with the value of being the “best copywriter” a client would hire.
You constantly read blogs, books, and recent case studies to improve copy and strategy. You challenge the brief respectfully, for example, "Hey Alefiya, we’ve been approaching Offer Optimization like this, but I read these 4 concepts recently. Can we brainstorm a one-pager to enhance our current board?" You bring structured, visual, bullet-based input.
Deadlines are hard. You communicate early if blockers arise and cover gaps proactively, even if that means adjusting your schedule to meet quality expectations. You handle stress with hobbies, routines, and downtime.
You’re professional and personable:
You communicate with clarity, warmth, and empathy while staying assertive to get work done. You don’t ghost clients, you don’t send unapproved messages, and you keep every conversation structured and collaborative.
You update the team daily in Slack, sharing progress, blockers, and agendas. You coordinate with designers, implementors, the OBM, and me so internal deadlines are met before client deadlines. You don’t assume. You clarify everything.
You respect deadlines, internal and client-facing. If a life event arises, you provide notice well in advance. You proactively manage your time within our 6–8 hour working block to hit deliverables without overcommitting. Excuses or last-minute incomplete work are not your traits.
You enjoy structured chaos with a drive for excellence. You actively call out negativity, gossip, or passive aggression, and seek feedback calls for hard conversations instead of venting in random texts. You embrace a Gen Z, fun, fast, and ambitious environment.
You’re not here for a quick shortcut to wealth. You understand that mastery comes from deliberate practice, learning, and consistent effort over months and years. You’re calm, ambitious, and driven for sustainable excellence.
You’re doing this alongside a full-time job, or if copywriting is not your main career.
This role requires focused time during project sprints. If you have major commitments (like studying full-time or working in a 9-5 job), it won’t be a fit. This is also not for you if you’re doing copywriting part-time as an additional source of income; we’re looking for copywriters who live and breathe copy nuances.
You’re in a season where you can’t commit fully.
If personal, health, or family challenges make it difficult to meet deadlines or stay consistent, this role will feel stressful, not supportive.
You miss deadlines or give vague updates.
We rely on clear communication and consistent progress. Last-minute delays or unclear updates make projects harder for everyone.
You deliver low-effort work.
Copy must be thoughtful, researched, structured, and well-presented. Quick shortcuts or AI-dependent drafts without strategy will not work here.
You’re defensive about feedback.
Feedback is part of growth. If it feels personal or difficult for you to integrate, this environment won’t be comfortable.
You wait for instructions.
We value ownership. Even if you need step-by-step direction, we expect you to come prepared with questions, but also have a “Everything if Figureoutable” attitude.
You avoid deep work.
This role requires focus, craft, and strategic thinking. Rushed or surface-level work won’t lead to success here.
You struggle with client-facing communication.
You must be clear, warm, and professional in front of clients. Unstructured or unpolished communication won’t work for a role like this.
You bring negativity into the team.
Gossip, passive aggression, or reactive behaviour impacts morale. We work best with people who stay calm, grounded, and collaborative.
You’re not hungry to grow.
If you prefer “average,” rely heavily on AI, or aren’t actively improving your craft, this role isn’t aligned with your ambitions or ours.
You’ll work with a variety of internal and client tools, including Monday.com, Slack, TidyCal, Google Workspace, Zoom, Loom, Whimsical, Typeform, and webinar platforms. You’ll also interact with client funnel software, ESPs, website platforms, and analytics tools when performing audits or research. While you’re not responsible for implementation or design, you should be comfortable navigating these systems to inform strategy.
You’ll report progress and updates consistently. Daily asynchronous updates should be shared in Slack and documented in Monday.com or relevant project boards. Internal deadlines come before client deadlines, and you’re expected to keep the team informed of your progress, blockers, and needs to deliver quality work on time.
You’ll be working with a mix of internal tools and client platforms, including:
You should already be familiar with most of these tools, but for anything new, you’re confident figuring it out on your own using tutorials, support documentation, or YouTube. You know when to dive in and problem-solve independently, and when to ask for help to avoid unnecessary delays.
You’re also committed to staying up-to-date with new software updates and tech enhancements that can improve our processes or help us deliver better results for clients. Part of your role is familiarizing yourself with changes quickly and thinking about how they can inform strategy.
We are looking for a long-term collaboration. After a 3-month trial period and first project, the right candidate can expect at least a 2-year working relationship.
Availability
This role is a full-time focus for a 2-month project sprint, with an expected 3-6 hours of work per day. The exact hours may vary depending on your experience, skill level, and efficiency, but we expect you to treat this as your primary commitment during the sprint.
Pay
Upto $3,900/project. The 2-month sprint will amount to roughly 80-100 hours of work.
Please send an email to hello@nomadsmarketing.co with the subject line “Conversion Quiz Copywriter” and fill out this application form: https://forms.gle/LzYewhMKoo2CmgHX6
Conversion Quizzes are what we breathe. So instead of asking for your CV or portfolio, I’d like you to re-write a short lead-magnet landing page into a Quiz Hook style Landing page HERO section.
The copy should demonstrate your persuasion powers and ability to think outside the box.
If successful, you will be invited to book an interview with Alefiya or Nomads Team.
Deadline to Apply: Feb 13th

What I’m testing:
• Can you deliver on deadline
• Your strategic and reasoning skills
• Conversion copy skills (I’m not looking for a hardcore direct-response style)
• Presentation and structure (how you wireframe or present the copy)
Here’s a wireframe example from my agency projects delivered by one of my current subcontractors:
Writers whose styles we admire: Jo Wiebe, Justin Blackman, Kirsty Fanton, Dave Harland.
And just to be clear — I know AI is part of everyone’s workflow, but what I’m not looking for is AI-copied garbage. If the copy demonstrates a lack of understanding of messaging hierarchy, structure, or strategic thinking, it’s an instant no.
