Everyone in the team (including myself) is obsessed with good design—how it's done, why it matters, and how it shapes the world around us. We’ve been building some insanely cool things and now we need someone who can turn it into stories that people actually read.

- Have <3 years of experience in marketing, social media, writing, or anything that involves telling great stories

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Social Media & Community Manager to elevate Parallel’s online presence and strengthen our brand connections with the design and startup communities. In this role, you’ll develop and execute strategies to increase engagement, foster community relationships, and make Parallel a recognized leader in product design. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building communities, stays updated on social media trends, and is passionate about engaging storytelling and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Strategy & Execution:
    Develop and implement a social media strategy across platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram) that aligns with Parallel’s brand values and growth goals. Plan, schedule, and publish content that showcases our work, highlights design insights, and connects with our audience.
  • Community Building & Engagement:
    Build and nurture relationships with the design and startup communities, engage in relevant conversations, and actively participate in industry forums and events. Act as the brand voice in all community interactions, from social comments to direct messages.
  • Content Creation & Curation:
    Work closely with the content team to create engaging social media content (graphics, short videos, stories) that highlights Parallel’s projects, design philosophy, and client success stories. Curate relevant content from industry leaders to keep our community informed and inspired.
  • Campaign Management:
    Organize and manage social media campaigns around key themes, product launches, or company milestones, tracking performance to refine future campaigns.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization:
    Track and analyze social media metrics, report on engagement, and provide actionable insights to optimize strategy and content for higher reach and engagement.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience managing social media and community initiatives, ideally in the design, tech, or creative services industries.
  • Engagement-Driven Mindset: Strong understanding of community-building and social media engagement strategies, with a passion for creating content that resonates.
  • Creative & Design Savvy: Experience with creating and curating visually compelling content, with a good eye for design.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to embody Parallel’s brand voice and engage with diverse audiences effectively.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proficient in social media analytics, able to translate metrics into insights for continuous improvement.
  • Adaptable & Collaborative: Able to thrive in a dynamic environment, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
