£40,000 - £50,000 GBP yearly
Content Strategy, SEO + AEO + GEO, Content and Copy Editing, AI and Automation

I'm buzzing about this one.

For two years, OmniFound has been me. Every audit, every call, every report, every pitch.

Not any more.

We're hiring our first SEO & GEO Specialist. Remote across the UK, £40,000 to £50,000.

Full job spec in comments.

If you know someone who'd be right for it, send them my way.

Posted by: Tom Wilson, Founder

OmniFound is an SEO agency founded by Tom Wilson in 2024, working with clients across the UK, US and Europe. The client book runs from local service businesses through to e-commerce brands and B2B manufacturers, which means the work spans map pack rankings for a single location right through to technical consultancy on multi-market international sites.

What separates OmniFound from most agencies of this size is the tooling. We build our own. Custom MCP servers, Python automation, bespoke client reporting infrastructure, and AI visibility tracking. The practical effect is that a lot of the manual grind most agencies still do by hand is automated here, and the time that frees up goes into strategy, diagnosis and actually moving the needle for clients.

Why this role exists

This is OmniFound's first hire, which shapes everything about the job.

Put simply, the job is to take ownership of client delivery so that Tom can focus on strategy, diagnosis and growing the business.

There is no team. No account director sitting between you and the client, no layers, nobody to escalate to. You will work directly with Tom, and you will have genuine ownership of client accounts within months rather than years.

That closeness is the point. You will learn how the work is actually done rather than inheriting someone else's process, and you will see the whole business: delivery, pitching, tooling and strategy, not just the slice that sits under your job title. When you work out a better way of doing something, it becomes how we do it.

You are also joining at the point where the next few hires, the next service lines and the shape of the business are all still open questions. There is a real opportunity to grow with it, and to grow this role into something bigger than it starts as.

This role suits someone who wants breadth and autonomy rather than a narrow remit inside a large team.

Where you will work

This is a remote role and we mean it. Work from anywhere in the UK.

Standard hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday with an hour for lunch, and a 4pm finish on Fridays. Core hours are 10am to 4pm, and there is real flexibility around the rest. Very occasionally a client will need something on a Friday afternoon, and we ask for a bit of give and take when that happens.

We also have office space in Mill Hill, north London. It is there for anyone within reach who wants a desk to work from, some of the time or none of the time. It is entirely optional and it will not affect how anyone is treated or assessed.

What you will do

Client delivery

  • Own a portfolio of retained accounts, from strategy through to execution
  • Run local SEO programmes for single and multi-location clients: Google Business Profile, citations, local landing page architecture and map pack performance
  • Plan and brief content, then produce or edit it to a publishable standard
  • Handle technical work: crawls, indexation, internal linking, redirects, cannibalisation and URL restructures
  • Build off-site authority through link acquisition, shareable content and digital PR

AI search and GEO

  • Help clients surface in AI search, where a growing share of people now start their research and where visibility works differently to traditional organic
  • Track how client brands are retrieved, cited and represented across AI platforms, and act on what that shows
  • Shape content and technical work around how large language models actually find, interpret and use information
  • Keep pace with how search behaviour is changing and what it means for the clients we look after
  • Document what works so it becomes a repeatable process rather than something only one person knows how to do

Analysis and reporting

  • Produce monthly client reporting through OmniFound's reporting platform
  • Interrogate data across Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console and GA4, and turn it into findings clients can act on
  • Investigate the messy problems: visibility drops, traffic leaks and ranking behaviour that does not add up

Client relationships

  • Join client calls, then lead them
  • Write updates and recommendations that clients actually understand and act on
  • Grow into full ownership of the relationship, not just the delivery

New business

You will be part of the pitching process for new business. That might mean the data and research behind a pitch, building out an audit, putting a proposal together, or joining the pitch itself.

Essential

  • Content strategy and topical authority: briefing, production, topic clusters and coverage gaps, plus the editorial judgement to spot thin or generic output and fix it
  • AI search visibility (GEO, also called AEO): you understand how large language models surface and cite content, and you have the appetite to build this into a core service using our tooling
  • Diagnostic thinking: you can investigate a messy problem such as a visibility drop or a traffic leak and work out what is actually happening, rather than running a standard audit checklist
  • Local SEO, including multi-location: Google Business Profile, map pack, citations and local page architecture
  • Technical SEO: crawls, indexation, internal linking, redirects, cannibalisation and URL restructures
  • Data fluency across the core tools: Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console and GA4
  • Off-site authority: link acquisition, shareable content and digital PR
  • Client-facing communication: written and on calls
  • Self-management in a remote, no-team setup: you can organise your own week, set your own priorities and keep moving without someone checking in on you

Nice to have

None of these is a requirement. Any one of them puts you towards the top of the salary band.

  • Ability to build: front-end site builds, or shipping things with Claude Code, Codex or similar
  • Comfortable with APIs and MCPs: pulling data programmatically from tools like Ahrefs, Google Search Console and GA4, or working with MCP servers
  • Python or other scripting

Salary and package

£40,000 to £50,000, depending on experience. What that range means in practice:

  • Towards £40,000: you are strong across content, local and technical, comfortable executing to a brief, and ready to grow into client ownership over the first year
  • Towards £50,000: you already own client relationships end to end, run accounts without supervision, and bring real depth in at least one of GEO, digital PR or technical build

On top of salary:

  • Workplace pension, employer contribution through auto-enrolment
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • 4pm finish every Friday, all year round. Not a summer perk, just how we work
  • £1,000 annual training and development budget, plus one industry conference a year with travel covered
  • Hardware provided based on what you need to do the job well: laptop, screens, keyboard, mouse and headset
  • Flexibility around family life: school runs, appointments and caring responsibilities are worked around, not apologised for
  • Fully remote, with optional use of the Mill Hill office. This is not a hybrid role in disguise

Practical notes

  • You must have the right to work in the UK. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship
  • You will need a reliable home working setup and a quiet space for client calls
  • There is a three month probation period, with the option to extend by one month

How to apply

Send your CV and a short note to [click apply], a few paragraphs is plenty, telling us about a piece of SEO work you are proud of and why. No cover letter essays required.
