Job purpose
The Senior SEO and AI Search Manager is responsible for shaping and driving client strategy across organic search and AI visibility. They will support the Account Director in managing junior team members, coordinating delivery across multiple stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to improve client performance, team efficiency and account growth.

What does the role involve?
Core Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Account Director to develop and deliver SEO strategies across the full funnel
- Senior client contact day to day, comfortable leading calls, presenting recommendations, and managing briefs through to delivery
- Mentors and develops junior team members where applicable through regular 1-2-1s, structured feedback and training
- Contributes to SEO thought leadership internally and has an appetite to do so externally
Skillsets
- Strong technical SEO foundations across crawl and index controls, hreflang, page speed, JavaScript-heavy platforms and more, able to communicate issues clearly to both SEO specialists and senior non-SEO stakeholders
- Advanced understanding of on-page SEO, able to deliver thorough optimisation recommendations for new and existing pages, with an awareness of E-E-A-T principles
- Solid understanding of off-page ranking factors and how to build brand authority over time
- Reporting experience that focuses on the why, not just the what
- Strong working knowledge of GEO and how AI-driven search is changing content discovery, with the ability to translate this into practical client strategies, measurement approaches and content recommendations
- Broad understanding of wider digital disciplines and how they interact with organic search
Project Management
- Manages deadlines and quality across their own workload and junior team members, keeping client expectations in check throughout
- Translates strategies into clear project plans, workstreams, milestones and tasks, using project tools (Monday.com, Asana etc.) to manage ownership, deadlines, dependencies and approvals
- Coordinates input across SEO, content, analytics, development and client stakeholders, ensuring risks, blockers and decisions are identified early
Workflows and AI
- Designs recurring deliverables as clear, repeatable workflows rather than one-off tasks, with documented inputs, outputs, review stages and quality standards
- Identifies where automation, AI tools or LLMs could improve parts of a workflow, while maintaining appropriate human review, quality control and data security
- Continuously reviews delivery processes to improve efficiency, consistency, scalability and team capacity
What are we looking for?
- 4+ year's SEO experience minimum, preferably at an agency
- Strong attention to detail, well organised and can manage tasks and their workload effectively
- An individual who can highlight and show a clear passion for SEO and digital marketing
- An individual who takes pride in their work and always strives to improve
- Proficient using a range of SEO and AI tools including Screaming Frog (and other enterprise crawlers), Profound, GSC, analytics platforms, Ahrefs and SEMrush
- Has experience working on a range of platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, Magento etc.
- Has basic knowledge and understanding of HTML and CSS
- Experience managing complex projects, competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders
- Strong organisation and confidence using project-management tools to manage tasks, dependencies, workload and delivery status
- A process-led mindset, with experience improving workflows and identifying opportunities for automation
- A practical understanding of where AI and LLMs can support delivery, alongside awareness of their limitations, risks and governance requirements
