State Farm is hiring a Sr. Copywriter to create and improve digital content that helps customers understand their options, take action and confidently engage with State Farm online. This role supports SEO-informed content across digital channels, including product pages, landing pages, articles, FAQs and other web experiences.
You will write, edit and optimize customer-focused copy that supports organic search visibility, brand voice, business goals and customer needs. You’ll translate content briefs, SEO insights and subject matter input into clear, useful and compelling copy for digital experiences, including landing pages, product and service pages, educational articles, FAQs, headlines, calls to action, meta titles and meta descriptions.
You’ll also help improve content quality by applying strong editing judgment around clarity, accuracy, readability, inclusivity, accessibility, tone and legal/compliance considerations. This role uses GenAI tools responsibly to support ideation, drafting, editing and variant creation, while maintaining human oversight, fact-checking and brand quality standards.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with SEO, content strategy, UX, product, analytics, technology, marketing and legal/compliance teams to develop, review, approve and improve digital content. You’ll also support content testing and continuous improvement by using performance insights, customer needs and stakeholder feedback to refine copy over time.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional copywriting, content writing or digital content experience, preferably for large-scale websites, digital marketing channels or enterprise brands.
- Strong portfolio of customer-focused digital copy, such as landing pages, product or service pages, articles, FAQs, email, paid/organic search copy or other web experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit clear, compelling, accurate and brand-appropriate copy for digital channels.
- Working knowledge of SEO-informed content practices, including search intent, headings, metadata, internal linking, FAQs, readability and on-page optimization.
- Experience translating briefs, business goals, customer needs and subject matter input into effective copy.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills, with attention to clarity, tone, grammar, accuracy, accessibility, inclusivity and consistency.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, such as SEO, content strategy, UX, product, legal/compliance, analytics, marketing or technology teams.
- Familiarity with GenAI writing tools and responsible AI-assisted writing practices, including prompting, review, editing, fact-checking and human-in-the-loop quality control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing for regulated industries, highly governed brands or content that requires legal, compliance or subject matter expert review.
- Experience creating or optimizing insurance, financial services, health care, technology, consumer services or other complex subject matter content.
- Experience working in content management systems or web publishing workflows.
- Experience developing or contributing to editorial standards, brand voice guidelines, content templates, prompt libraries or reusable writing guidance.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, messaging tests, search result snippet optimization or performance-informed content improvements.
- Familiarity with accessibility, plain language, UX writing or content design principles.

Our Benefits
Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!
- Potential starting salary range: $100,000 - $125,000
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
