Job Title: Senior Copywriter

Location: Work from home; U.S.-based

Job Type: Full-time, exempt

Direct Compensation: $80,000 - 90,000 annually, depending on experience and location, and eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

Ideal Background: 3+ years of experience in copywriting, content, or brand storytelling (agency and/or in-house)

Job Summary and Mission

Mother Bear is a marketing and PR/communications consultancy for brands with entrepreneurial hearts. We provide strategy and execution to companies with the customer at the center. Our clients range from stealth-mode startups building brands and launch plans from scratch to very established brands going through expansion or re-positioning.

As we continue to grow, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Copywriter to lead and execute high-quality written work across our client portfolio. This role will support brand strategy, campaign development, and day-to-day execution across channels. The Senior Copywriter will collaborate closely with strategists, designers, and account teams, and will play a key role in shaping brand voice, messaging frameworks, and creative standards across Mother Bear’s work.

This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to C-level executives and brand-name clients. An ideal candidate is a self-starter with exceptional writing skills, strong strategic instincts, and the ability to adapt voice and tone across industries and audiences.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to)What You’ll Do:

• Write compelling, on-brand copy across a wide range of deliverables, including websites, landing pages, emails, paid and organic social, digital ads, scripts, presentations, and brand messaging documents
• Collaborate with strategy, design, and account teams to develop creative concepts and integrated campaigns
• Translate brand strategy and insights into clear, persuasive messaging that drives engagement and business outcomes
• Serve as a subject matter expert on copy and brand voice, providing guidance and feedback across Mother Bear’s client roster
• Develop and maintain brand voice guidelines and messaging frameworks for clients
• Review, edit, and elevate copy written by others to ensure quality, clarity, and consistency
• Present copy concepts and creative rationale to clients with confidence and professionalism
• Continuously iterate and refine messaging based on performance data, client feedback, and evolving goals
• Write, proofread, and edit content for both client-facing and internal materials

Basic Qualifications for This Role:

• 3+ years of experience in copywriting, content marketing, brand marketing, or a related field
• Exceptional written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to write across multiple tones, formats, and industries (B2B and B2C)
• Comfort with both short and long form writing, from social media to blog posts
• Proven experience collaborating within cross-functional creative teams
• Strong understanding of brand voice, storytelling, and marketing fundamentals
• Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital performance metrics
• Proactive mindset with the ability to manage shifting timelines and priorities
• Collaborative, low-ego, team-first approach to work

Preferred Qualifications:

• Agency experience working across multiple clients and industries
• Experience mentoring or informally leading junior writers
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field 

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range for the role:

$80,000 - $90,000 per year depending on experience and location, and eligible for a performance-based bonus.
