Hello! I’ve just given my Business Insider pitch form a refresh with a few new topics/prompts.

I’d love to work with some new writers, especially if you have a great story about…

🏡 Downsizing homes and the unexpected perks, downsides, and trade-offs of living in a smaller space
✈️ Moving to a new state or country for a dream job or a relationship
❤️ Navigating conversations about (and different attitudes toward) money within a romantic relationship

Please pitch me through this form [click apply] (where you can also find a few more topics, info on our rates, and some of my favorite recent stories!)

Hello!

I'm currently open to first-person lifestyle pitches, and I'd love to work together! Our rates start at $240 for stories around 600 words. Below, please find a few examples of the types of stories that we publish.
If your story sounds like a fit or if I have any further questions, I'll be in touch to set up a quick video call! Due to the sheer volume of pitches our team receives, I may not be able to respond to every pitch right away — if you don't hear back from me within three weeks, you can assume we're passing at this time.

First-person pieces about the pros, cons, and surprises of living in a small spaces or downsizing homes:
I live in a 97-square-foot micro-apartment in Paris. It was supposed to be temporary, but I realized I love tiny living.
My boyfriend and I live in a 500-square-foot apartment with another couple so we can afford New York City rent

Stories about the lifestyle improvements you’ve noticed or challenges you’ve faced after moving for work or for love:
I moved across the country for a dream job. Within a year, I realized I'd made a mistake.
I moved to Canada for love 10 years ago. It helped me realize which friends were worth keeping — and find new ones.

Personal essays about navigating money/financial conversations in a romantic relationship:
My husband has spent years preparing for early retirement. I've been doing the opposite.
Planning to live with my boyfriend pushed us to finally discuss finances. Instead of moving in together, we broke up.

Essays exploring the surprising pros, cons, and misconceptions about unique living situations:
My husband and I moved to an off-grid cabin in West Virginia 10 years ago. This lifestyle has been tough, but worth it.
I've lived in a camper van with my dog for 3 years. Traveling full-time with a pet has been surprisingly wonderful.

Essays about building community with people from different generations:
At 33, I moved to a Florida island full of retirees. Despite the age gap with my neighbors, my social life is amazing.
I went to an adult sleepaway camp in my 40s. Surrounded by women in their 60s and 70s, I found role models for aging.

Travel listicles highlighting hidden gems and cool, lesser-known places to visit:
I've visited all 20 regions in Italy. Skip the big cities and head to one of these 4 small towns instead.
I've traveled beyond Japan's popular Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka route. There are 4 day trips I'd actually recommend.
