📢 FAMILY HANDYMAN IS LOOKING FOR DIY VOICES
Are you a home improvement enthusiast, a seasoned contractor, or a dedicated DIYer with a strong point of view? We want to hear from you.

Family Handyman is every DIY enthusiast’s trusted source for reliable, hands-on home improvement advice. We are actively seeking talented freelance writers to help us shape the future of the home improvement conversation. We’re expanding beyond explainers and step-by-step guides (though we still create those!) and aiming to cultivate personality-driven content that captures the real-world experiences, opinions, and sometimes the struggles of modern homeownership and upkeep.

🔨  WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking pitches across these categories in particular:

* Personality-driven essays: Personal stories, reflective pieces, lessons learned from home projects, hot takes on DIY with a strong point of view.
* Gear & product reviews: Honest, opinionated reviews of new, everyday tools, materials, gadgets, and services you've used in the home.
* The latest in home improvement: Trend reporting on news and emerging trends in the home and auto renovation and repair space.
* Hot takes & commentary: Sharp, current opinion pieces on everything from interior design trends to the cultural shifts shaping how we live.

📝 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Please submit pitches via email to me at [click apply] with the subject line "FHM Contributor Submission: NAME." Pitches should include a working title with a strong angle, a 2–3 sentence summary of the argument/angle, why it is a great fit for Family Handyman.

If you are not currently an FHM contributor, please start with a short introduction outlining your background (especially any professional experience in home improvement, design, or DIY fields) and links to 2-3 relevant published clips that showcase your unique voice or expertise. (Note on Compensation: Please reach out via email with an introduction/clips, at which point we can discuss rates via email if there is a fit.)
