The opportunity

Leveraging your expertise as part of our Envision Medical Communications team, you will create impactful, high-quality scientific content in a supportive and innovative team environment.

This is a bilingual Japanese/English Medical Writer opportunity, working across a variety of client accounts spanning different therapeutic areas. You'll develop high-quality scientific content including primary publications, publication enhancements, and patient-focused materials. Success in this role requires the ability to communicate confidently at a professional business level in both languages, alongside excellent scientific writing skills and the ability to accurately translate complex scientific concepts for different audiences.

We welcome applications from candidates permanently based in Japan, Australia, the UK or the US for this position. Please note that professional business-level fluency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken) is a mandatory requirement.

Role responsibilities

• Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas, client and competitor products, and industry regulations.
• Create high-quality, scientifically accurate, and compliant content to meet client briefs across a variety of project types.
• Participate in client meetings and onsite programs, assisting in preparation of materials, as needed.
• Effectively manage and prioritise workload, following processes aligned with internal and client SOPs to deliver to agreed timelines and budgets.
• Contribute to the scientific content for new business opportunities/proposals, and when appropriate, participate in pitch presentations.
• Review and data check work against source materials.
• Contribute to project tracking and reporting using relevant tools (e.g. DataVision, Zinc, Clear), as appropriate.

Do you have what we are looking for?

Skills & expertise

• An advanced degree in a life sciences or clinical discipline.
• Demonstrable experience in a medcomms agency is essential, with expertise working on a range of medical affairs and publications deliverables.
• Professional business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Proven ability to write, edit and review high-quality scientific content in both Japanese and English, ensuring scientific accuracy, clarity and appropriate localisation for the intended audience.
• Ability to effectively interpret, evaluate and communicate complex scientific data in a variety of styles and formats.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and external experts.
• Expertise in use of online and other data sources for literature reviews and information retrieval.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, and experience with graphing/referencing software (e.g. EndNote and GraphPad Prism).

本ポジションでは，日本語・英語のバイリンガルメディカルライターとして，さまざまな治療領域にわたる複数のクライアントプロジェクトを担当し，原著論文，出版物の価値を高める関連コンテンツ，患者さん向けの資料など，質の高いメディカルコンテンツを作成します。この役割で成果を上げるには，英語と日本語の両方で高度なビジネスコミュニケーションを行う能力，優れたメディカルライティングスキル，ならびに複雑な医科学情報を対象読者に応じて正確かつ分かりやすく伝える能力が求められます。

本ポジションでは，日本，オーストラリア，英国，または米国にお住まいの方からの応募を歓迎します。なお，日本語および英語ともに，ビジネスレベルでの読み書きおよび会話能力を有することが必須条件です。

主な職務内容

• 担当する治療領域，クライアント製品，競合製品，ならびに関連する業界規制に関する知識を習得し，最新の状態に保つ。
• 各種プロジェクトにおいて，クライアントの要件に基づき，科学的な正確性とコンプライアンスを確保した質の高いメディカルコンテンツを作成する。
• 資料作成に伴い，必要に応じてクライアントとの会議やオンサイトでの各種会合に参加する。
• 業務の優先順位を適切に設定し，社内およびクライアントの業務手順に沿って業務を進め，合意されたスケジュールおよび予算内で成果物を提供する。
• 新規案件獲得に向けた提案活動において，科学的・医学的観点から提案資料作成を支援し，必要に応じて提案プレゼンテーションに参加する。
• 原資料に基づき，成果物のレビューおよびデータチェックを行う。
• 必要に応じて，DataVision，Zinc，Clearなどの関連ツールを用いて，プロジェクトの進捗管理および状況報告を行う。

求められる経験・スキル

スキル・専門性

• 生命科学分野または臨床分野で大学院レベルの学位を有すること。
• メディカルコミュニケーションズエージェンシーでの実務経験を有し，メディカルアフェアーズおよびパブリケーション関連の幅広いプロジェクトに携わった経験があること。
• 日本語での高いビジネスコミュニケーション能力を有し，適切なビジネス表現や敬語を用いたコミュニケーションができること。
• 英語で質の高いメディカルコンテンツを作成，編集，レビューした経験を有し，科学的な正確性を保ちながら，対象読者に応じて分かりやすく適切に情報を伝えることができること。
• 複雑な医科学データを適切に解釈，評価し，適切なスタイルおよび形式で伝達できること。
• 同僚，クライアント，外部専門家と円滑に連携できる高いコミュニケーションスキルを有すること。
• 文献検索や情報収集において，オンラインデータベースをはじめとする各種情報源を効果的に活用できること。
• Microsoft Officeアプリケーションに関する高度な知識，EndNoteやGraphPad Prismなどの文献管理ソフト，グラフ作成ソフトの使用経験を有すること。
