I'm on the hunt for a Media Relations Specialist to join our team at Notably.
You're going to want to apply if (and only if):
☕ You can look at a client who swears they have "no news" and find three stories before your coffee's cold.
👋 You can pitch a reporter who's never heard of you and get a reply on the angle alone. Cold. No warm intro, no inherited contact list, no "we go way back."
💘 Pitching is your favorite part of the job, not the part you rush through to get to strategy.
If you read that and thought *obviously, that's just a regular Tuesday* — we should talk! DM me (Carly Martinetti) or apply directly.
And, of course, more details on salary, PTO, AI stipends, and our remote-always-and-forever policy (yay!) in the job post below.

Notably is a modern PR agency for high-growth and mid-market companies that want to scale fast, raise serious capital, get acquired, or go public. We think the best PR firm isn't only the one that lands the most coverage (though we're competitive about that) – it's the one clients genuinely look forward to speaking with every week.
We're remote-always and built that way on purpose. We're easy-going to work with and relentless about results, and we don't think those two things are in tension. We take work-life balance seriously, we back each other up so clients never see us scramble, and we genuinely like the work. PR can change the entire trajectory of a company, and we get to do that for a roster of clients we're proud of, with a heavy concentration in tech but a hand in just about every industry, which keeps it interesting.
We're growing fast, and we'd like you with us along for the ride!
About the role
The boilerplate: The Media Relations Specialist is the pitching engine on multiple accounts. Our clients are high-growth and mid-market companies, many of them established players moving into their next phase of scale. This role is all about securing consistent, meaningful earned media coverage, and doing it through sharp thinking and even sharper writing.
The good stuff: This is a craft role, and we mean that as the highest compliment. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves the work of media relations: finding the story no one else spotted, building an angle from scratch, and writing a pitch so good a reporter who's never heard of you actually writes back. If you think of pitching as the thing you do on the way to something else, this isn't your role. If you think of it as the thing you want to get truly great at, keep reading.
Most of the time we're moving fast, which means you won't have a warm relationship with every reporter you need to reach. You need to be able to break through cold: a fresh angle, a tight hook, and writing that earns a response on its own merit. Relationships are a bonus. Knowing how to manufacture news out of a client who "doesn't have any news" is the job.
You'll also work closely with our account leads and get real client exposure from day one. We're not going to throw you on a client call solo in week one, but we're also not going to keep you in a back room. The ideal person here wants to grow into client leadership over time, and we'll help you get there (we've done it for others on the team). You just don't have to do it all on day one.
What you'll do
What we're looking for
On AI: use it. We're not precious about it, and we'd rather you brainstorm with it than stare at a blank page. But AI doesn't know your reporters, can't find the angle that actually breaks through, and can only write a pitch that sounds like every other pitch in a reporter’s inbox. The craft is yours. We're hiring you for your brain, not your prompts, and our process is built to see the difference.

How we work
One more thing
Our hiring process includes a short pitch exercise and a live conversation, because we've learned that talking about media relations and actually doing it are two *very* different things.
