BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Media & Content Coordinator for the Asian American Center serves as a key communications and media partner to the AAC Managing Editor. This role creates, produces, and distributes media assets across the Center's platforms, with a focus on writing, editorial support, podcast and video production, and digital content design and management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the AAC Managing Editor in producing web resources, content, and communications
- Write, edit, and proofread content, including articles, newsletters, video and podcast titles and descriptions, and social media copy
- Manage and publish content on AAC's Substack, including formatting, scheduling, and audience communications
- Edit podcast episodes and video content using Descript, including transcription, clean-up, and audio/video refinement
- Create and edit short-form video content using CapCut or Canva for social media and digital platforms
- Design graphics, promotional materials, and visual assets using Canva
- Collaborate with the Managing Editor to develop and maintain a content distribution plan and editorial calendar
- Manage organizational systems and scheduling tools to ensure timely content production and publication
- Distribute media assets across the Center's social media platforms and digital channels
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of professional editorial, writing, or communications experience
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail
- Proficiency with Descript for podcast and video editing (transcription, clip editing, audio/video cleanup)
- Experience with Canva for graphic design and video editing
- Familiarity with CapCut or equivalent short-form video editing tools
- Experience managing a Substack publication or similar newsletter/blog platform
- Ability to build and maintain organizational systems, editorial calendars, and scheduling workflows
- Proficiency with Google Apps and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, consistently meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with Asian American ministry and community dynamics; Asian American ministry experience is a plus
ADDITIONAL REMARKS:
- Must be willing to abide by Fuller Community Standards
- This position is available for remote work within the United States, subject to payroll state tax approval by Fuller Theological Seminary
PAY SCALE:
- Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $20 - $22 per hour USD
