Part-Time Marketing and Content Assistant

Remote independent contractor | Approximately 10 hours per week | $35/hour

I'm a fractional CMO, marketing strategist, and freelance journalist, seeking a highly organized, responsive marketing assistant to support client work and business operations.

This role will begin at approximately 40–43 hours per month, with an initial budget of up to $1,500 per month and the potential to grow.

Responsibilities

• Manage content calendars, project trackers, files, and deadlines
• Format, proofread, and prepare client-facing documents
• Schedule and publish social media content
• Repurpose articles, interviews, and transcripts into social and marketing content
• Upload and format blogs, newsletters, and website content
• Conduct light marketing, competitor, audience, and media research
• Create simple Canva graphics and presentations
• Support scheduling, invoicing, meeting notes, follow-up, and other business operations

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of lead generation and the marketing funnel
• Excellent organization and attention to detail — this isn't a field that loves typos :)
• Marketing and content experience
• Social media scheduling and publishing
• Copyediting and proofreading skills
• Understanding of use of AI for basic marketing tasks
• Canva, Google Workspace, and project-management tools
• Ability to manage multiple clients and shifting priorities
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative

Availability and Turnaround

Quick communication and turnaround in Eastern Standard Time are essential. Some assignments will be planned in advance, while others may need to be completed on the same day or within a few hours.

The right person must have reliable weekday availability, respond promptly, and communicate quickly.

Ideal Background

Experience supporting a consultant, agency, writer, executive, or small professional-services business is preferred. Those with a background in journalism, marketing, or comms preferred.
