Happy 2026! I’m so excited to connect, reconnect, and work with tons of writers on some personal essays and travel/lifestyle stories this year.
On that note, I’ve given my pitch form an update. I’d really love to hear from you if…
• You’ve learned a lot from an intergenerational friendship, community, or living dynamic
• You moved from or within the US, and your lifestyle improved or changed in a surprising way
• You have a unique living situation/lifestyle that works for you (some examples are linked in the form!)
Even if none of these prompts resonate, I hope you’ll save/bookmark my form and check back in! I try to update it on a monthly basis with fresh call-outs, topics, and sample stories.

Business Insider Lifestyle Pitching (2026)
Hello!
I'm currently open to lifestyle pitches, and I'd love to work together! Our rates start at $240 for stories around 600 words. Below, please find a few examples of the types of stories that we publish. (In general, we love first-person pieces with strong takeaways and/or service angles!)
If your story sounds like a fit or if I have any further questions, I'll be in touch to set up a quick phone call! Due to the sheer volume of pitches our team receives, I may not be able to respond to every pitch — if you don't hear back from me within three weeks, you can assume we're passing at this time.
Essays about intergenerational friendships and living dynamics:
I went to an adult sleepaway camp in my 40s. Surrounded by women in their 60s and 70s, I found role models for aging.
I sat next to a 95-year-old solo traveler on an international flight. Now my pen pal, she's taught me a lot about life.
My husband and I moved back in with my parents to save money. It was rocky at first, and then we found a shared hobby.
Any kind of essay or listicle about a move that changed your life, surprised you, or turned out to be a mistake:
I moved to Portland at 22. Now that I'm 30, I've outgrown so much of what I loved about the city.
I spent my entire life running from my hometown. At 32, I moved back to save money, and I've never been happier.
We gave up our dream home in Dallas for my career in New York. After just one year, we realized it was a mistake.
Pieces exploring the pros, cons, and misconceptions about unique living situations:
My husband and I moved to an off-grid cabin in West Virginia 10 years ago. This lifestyle has been tough, but worth it.
We tried 'furniture-free living' as an experiment. Four years later, we're happier than ever without a couch.
I quit my corporate job and spent 18 months living on a sailboat. My mindset's completely shifted now that I'm back on land.
Pieces highlighting your favorite seasonal weekend getaways and hidden gems:
I've traveled to all 20 regions of Italy. I'd go to this lesser-known capital city over Milan and Rome any day.
My favorite day-trip destination is a small island in New England — and the ferry ride to get there is just $20
Service-forward travel listicles that only *you* could write:
I've traveled to every capital city in Europe. There are 5 I'd go back to in a heartbeat and 3 I'd skip next time.
I've been to every hotel on the Las Vegas Strip — but there are just 5 that I'll always revisit.
I've lived in the Netherlands for 10 years. Here are the 6 biggest mistakes I see tourists make.
Thank you so much for your interest!
